  1. Just a quick update got windows back from powder coating re fitted all new seals and got them back in and took the other 5 out get them done so hopefully all water proofed for winter
  2. Well the way I see it two coats of primer & two coats of blacking is like the condom method two is always safer than one.
  3. I used jotun epoxy primer and probably jotun jotamastic 87
  4. Jotun epoxy blacking
  5. Anther job of the long list of work to be done got the primer on what a ball ache of a job laying under it with a roller next time it’s going into be done
  6. Thanks I will stick to marine ply I think
  7. Yer will check howdens or just build my own from ply and oak thanks for advice
  8. Thanks chaps marine ply it is then
  9. Need bit of advice on materials for interior separating walls I’ve been offered this wood all different colour finishes to choose from most of its 18mm but bit concerned about the edges and think it’s chipboard but big sheets and cheap would it rot All the boards are laminated on both sides
  10. Got a little bit more done this week been bit busy with work shifts getting in the way of progress Just got to get used to the foam insulation spray used a bit to much but will get better with practice I hope
  11. All ballast in just glad I’m not a brick layer, still got to fix the retaining joists once the bitumen has dried on them
  12. Probably yer but I had the boat weight and what was needed roughly in tons
  13. Just had another workout and it’s 1.72244094 tons imperial so 1 & 3/4 tons just under
  14. R now there’s a question I can’t answer at the moment I’m at work will check it out in the morning and try to work it out in uk tons thanks for that question
  15. Quick update on slow boat build got most of the ballast down still 3 bays each side to do at the stern end still bit worrying about the weights thou once it’s all done . Each brick weighs 3.5 kilos and once complete there will be 500 bricks installed on my calculations 1.750 kilograms wich is 1.9 tons and it was worked out the boat needed between 1&1/2 to 2 tons. So I’m thinking only way to go is lay flooring and do sides and ceiling finish off all the outside then have to move it to a marina before fitout so can remove or add ballast as needed
