  1. Yes, I read that David. Its just my luck that the problem is under the bath and has been leaking into the bilge for gawd knows how long! Kay x
  2. Hi all... Ours does this occasional burst for a few seconds every other day approximately; when we're not using the water. Couldn't see any leaks but I can't get the bath side off to check the pipes under the bath! I think we're going to have to get that side off as we need to change the bath mixer tap/shower thing anyway... Bugger! Yep, that is quite an avatar! Kay x
  3. Crumbs! No, I didn't know that expression! I've had a sheltered life... Kay x Okay then, I'll be back! Kay x
  4. Thanks to everyone that has commented. I will have a look this evening and make note of any taps I find. The fun bit will be getting to the underneath bit! As they're a fixed unit and not individual taps, will it be easy to find another similar arrangement that will fit into the same holes? Kay x
  5. Thanks for that, will have a look later when I get back. I guess it would be silly to not have some way of shutting the tank off wouldn't it! Kay x
  6. Hi all... Our bath mixer tap/combined shower head thing decided to die last night and the middle bit where you select where you want the water to go - either taps or shower head - has snapped off. So, got to get a new one of some description. What is the best way to go about changing it without flooding the place? Do you have to drain the tank and the calorifier and everything? This is a bit different from a house where you can turn the stop cock off isn't it! The fun bit will be getting to the underneath part of the taps to unscrew them! Still, that bit isn't my job! Ha! I've taken a photo of the arrangement HERE Any help greatly appreciated as we can't use the damn thing now! Sulk... Well, not without a jet of water blasting out of that centre hole horizontally! Eeek! Kay x
  7. Thank you to everyone that has helped out on this post. The photo is very helpful - thanks very much for that! I will remove a few bits of board and see if I can see the tank in question! I dare say it can be "got at" but I don't know how to get all the bits of wood out. Will have a mess with it at the w/e... Thanx Kay x
  8. Thanks Yoda So its maintenance free then? I don't need to be able to access it? Thanks Kay x
  9. Hi all... We have a Perkins MC42 diesel engine and a calorifier. Now, I've found the two pipes that run to the calorifier but I've found two more thicker coolant pipes that go out through the side of the engine compartment and disappear out of view. Where do these go? What could be under there? Is there another form of heat exchanger or radiator or something? Any help appreciated! Kay x
  10. Congratulations Lucy and Rob Hope you find a cracking boat! All the best... Kay x
  11. Okay, I've not exactly created a blog but I've put my present (and past) avatars online now. I will also add new ones to the list as and when I change them... PM me for the site... Oh, and more 'on' topic - I'm going for these - CLICKYPOOS! Kay x
