  1. Yes thanks 👍 that engine manual was very interesting. I had only found the new green engine one online and the fuel system is a bit different.
  2. Thank you to all that contributed it’s now bled and running fine.😀 I deffo should have filled the filter first. That hand lever was essential too once I found it by feel only. it’s so cramped in there even the genuine fuel filter only starts on the threads when the support bracket is let go first.
  3. Many thanks for the drawing and priming instructions. Will try again tomorrow.
  4. Previous owner and now us have been adding Marine 19 to the tank as well. Just in case. I intend to keep the tank as full as possible too.
  5. Thanks all will do all of the above! Got a large syringe I use for the batteries so will fill the filter too and stick 50 litres + in the tank. it needs filling up so it’s something I gotta do anyway.
  6. Nope there’s nothing like that. I’ve seen them on the newer beat marine green engines. can’t find a lift pump buts there’s so little room in there. May well be. Will stick a couple of Jerry cans in tomorrow. Was running fine till I changed the filter😢 Strange I can’t see a manual lift pump lever or anything else except the water trap and fuel in the fuel lines to the main pump.
  7. Will have a look tomorrow and perhaps add more fuel. it’s got over 1/4 of a tank full The Beta Marine Manual that came with the boat is pretty useless on this.
  8. Hi All Beta Marine red engine 3 cylinder 28HP 1993 year of manufacture. Am struggling to bleed fuel filter after replacing it. Iv’e turned on the fuel again and expected the filter to fill with the top vent screw removed but nothing. can’t find any manual pump to operate or any other bleed screws, any advice please?
  9. Thank you all for your input. Yes done well it looks great. Will give it a go and see how I get on. like everything I bet there’s quite a bit of skill required and I will try not to overdo it🥹 Thanks for the varnish advice too.
  10. Could anyone recommend some suitable paints to use for this effect please? or any tips on doing it successfully greatly appreciated!
  11. 👍will Google that. Cheers
  12. Hi All can anyone recommend a good magnet set for general use please? Looking for something that’s good value and works well. Not looking to go magnet fishing! Just after something that will retrieve dropped metallic items from the canal. Theres a lot of choice and diffo Kgs ratings. Don’t know what is good or bad. Many thanks
