  1. I have a picture of my late gran next to a bunch of narrowboats. I would love to know where she is, potentially somewhere near Norfolk Broads? Could you possibly help me identify the location of this picture? Thanks so much in advance.
  2. Yet! It was your post which made me buy another cap lol
  3. Update: Solar panels have been installed so I am feeling some degree serenity now… batteries happy. Fridge on.
  4. I got a 1 1/2” but needed 1 1/4”! Fits perfectly!
  5. The cap arrived! It’s the right thing. Only my incompetence reared it head again. The thing is too big and sits atop the opening rather than screwing down. Have ordered another. Thankfully they are cheap as chips.
  6. Wise idea. Thankfully a curious boater had a huge magnet. No cap found. Lots of other detritus, though I am woefully forgetful. I wish I could remind myself in advance before taking my keys out to remind myself to not drop them but alas
  7. I wasn’t t expecting it to be as heavy as it was and I had something else in my other hand and I’m a bit clumsy like that. I misread the tape, it must be 40mm instead. Oops. The female hex is correct. Thanks. Tried the magnet several times before accepting the futility. Gonna get a new one. Are you a betting person ??
  8. Hi i dropped the cap lid to my fuel tank into the canal and need to buy a new one. However when I the type fuel cap narrowboat into Google, I get a whole plethora of caps making me unsure which is correct for me. I attached an image of what I mean. What should I be looking for? The thing I dropped looked like a huge nut? The hole is 4mm long.
  9. update: The coolant pipe which bends at 90 degrees had a small tear in it at the bend itself and looked quite worn and old. Engineer from the RCR found it in less than two minutes. New one will be ordered which should stop any leaking going forward.
  10. I’m not ignoring you. I am actually trying to do as you say but failing, evidently. I told you this is very hard for me to grasp. I’m not this stupid in other areas of my life I promise lol. I do not want to ‘do my own thing’ or willingly ruin new batteries I bought just days ago, that’s nonsense. I’ve been plugged in since yesterday afternoon and the readings are thus in the monitor in my bedroom: SOC - 100% CE - 0.0ah I - 0.31 VS - 13.15% V - 13.36% lights are both green in the sine inverter and the charger has the float light on.
  11. I have been doing what you suggested, I think. I have been looking at the voltage into the batteries and when it comes to 12.5 I charge it with the engine as best I can. That takes it to 12.90 then I stop and start the process again the day after. Recent engine trouble means it dropped to 12.33 until I got access to shoreline.
  12. I have a number of a trusted electric person. I’ll phone and ask them to look at it for me. Hope they are available!
  13. I bought new batteries then I started to have engine trouble so haven’t had the chance to run the new ones for 8+ hours with the engine yet. Have been teetering around 85-90%
  14. More like RTFMY (read the fkin manual, yesterday) Thanks for this. It went to 14.2 after I plugged it in for the first time using shore line with new batteries. Not seen it go that high yet with just the engine running.
  15. How does one correctly programme that Victron battery charger?
  16. Will do. So it’ll go back to a normal green light eventually?
  17. Very strange design lol thanks for the reassurance
  18. The new batteries are different to the old ones in terms of brand but they are three new 110ah batteries which is what I replaced. These however are, god I can’t remember the word he used, but these batteries I put in have more cycles of charge than may be standard, I believe. the old are dual marine multicell and the new ones are Leoch AGM
  19. It didn’t do this when I was in the Marina but then I had the old batts?? Should I do anything? I know I’m sorry. I actually have a learning difficulty that makes numbers seem like Chinese symbols to me which is strange since I am quite adept at language
  20. I have read the manual but I don’t know what it means. So orange blink. DC 12V. I imagine it’s got too much going in as in shoreline but I dunno. Why is it going more green the more things I turn on… I turned it off for ten mins and both lights are green now
  21. I came here to charge the batts as I couldn’t with my engine trouble. The batteries are taking a charge and seem to be near 100%. Just bought these 3 110amp leisures. Inverter had now entered float mode but light flashing persists. I notice the light go from orange to orangey green when the fridge turned itself on The more I plug in the more green the light goes I think? I have turned it off since I am not actually in need of the help inverter but I can’t stop thinking it’s telling something important
  22. Apologies. I mean the one attached on the wall on the left. The light which says input level is flashing orange ish which I think means over or undercharging. Not sure what happened. Was fine yesterday when I plugged in.
  23. Hi. I am plugged in at a Marina after some engine troubles. My inverter charger has been switched from standby to charge. I noticed this morning that the LED was flashing. Have attached image. What could explain this? It was flashing when I was in float well. When I flip the switch to standby the flashing stops but I am not longer relying on shore power despite being plugged in. My batteries are used instead. Confused here. Any help welcome
  24. Anyone here know somebody in market harb area who will fit panels and controller (Victron) on my roof?
