  1. I think you'll find that any buyers of new boats will be approached by the builder to say if they are happy with the build or not. Any positive comments will then be incorporated into the boatbuilder's literature.. Negative comments should be acted upon by the builder (if he has any sense). I have frequently seen the sign in many different walks of life: "If you like our product, tell your friends - if you don't, tell us". Cheers, Angus
  2. What can anyone do, Gary, when they are in the position of wanting to buy a boat and are trying to find a reliable builder? Margaret and I have spoken on many occasions to Jonathan Mills of Simpsons and have felt that his would be a good firm to build our boat - in fact he was on our short list to do the build. I feel fortunate that we had not got as far as placing an order with him - but that may have been enough to keep him afloat a little longer. Any suggestions as to how we can assure ourselves of the solidity of a firm before we place an order? Cheers, Angus
  3. "I understand they have been reluctant to file accounts for a while " I have just checked LBC on Companies House and they show no sign of being reluctant to file their accounts. I should add that I am nothing whatever to do with LBC just a supporter of fair play! Regards, Angus
