  7. If I were to fit 2 small tanks fed from the engine with there own coil would this cause the rads to get hotter rather than using one tank with two coils.
  8. At the moment I just have my squirrel for heat and gas heater for hot water, it seems a waste running the engine to charge batteries and not heat the water or some rads especially when cruising. i wanted to fit a pressuried system with an accumalator..
  9. thanks that will be a great help. colin.
  10. did the tank come with the cut out for the thermostat, or did you have to do it all your self
  11. thanks all that's a great help I am disappointed that the rads wont get very hot and i will use a pump. will I need to install a pressure vessel.
  12. i would like my hot water and two rads to work off of my skin cooled engin when useing the boat. how do i set about this. Many thanks Colin.
  13. When reading peoples comments about batteries and alternators they always mention 14.8 volts dropping down after a hour. mine works the other way creeping up to 14 volts
  14. is there some thing wrong or is all ok. when are start my engine the second alternator puts in about 13.6 volts. but after 1 hour the volt metre climbs to 14 volts and may even creep a little further. this was the same on my previous boat with the same make of batteries. I never let the batteries drop down to less than 12.4 volts
  15. The engine was a Honda 5.5 bought from eBay brand new but badge up as a different name, the two pulleys came from chelmer bearings, then the alternator, fan belt and volt metre came from a car spares shop. the engine was 4 stroke and fairly quite.
  16. just to put the cat amongst the pigeons i built my own generator Easley, using a Honda engine and a 90 amp alternator. charges the batteries in about 1 hour. i sold it when i bought my new boat, but i will make another one. the unit works out about £200. Colin.
  17. Roger that's my warrantee out the window, but I thought it wasn't right that they kept asking for full payment before the boat was completed in Feb. this year.
  18. thanks kayak, I gave them a ring and it looks like it may be the same windows £128 so will try to fit it myself.
  19. thanks Roger, lets see if they let us know whats going on.
  20. hi all I need to get another sliding window for midj 2 but cant get no answer from Liverpool boats, are they still in business.Colin
  21. i have some indoors thats a good idear. thanks.
  22. Chris I have two inverters one 600 and the other 2000 watt both connected to the neutral buzz bar with all the other items, pumps etc.
  23. thanks for all your time and information, its been a great help. my problems started when I turned off the cut off switch to leave the boat and noticed the stereo stayed on for about 3 seconds. I checked the volt meter and saw the voltage was draining down slowly. so one by one I disconnected each appliance, and that is when I noticed that my lights were still on and everything was disconnected. you know the rest.i think my inverters some our although off are storing a small amount of current for a short while, because when I disconnected them the volt metre dropped straight away.
