  1. Hi all, Thanks for your ideas, just put it back together and she now nice and hot. Wondering if there was some moisture in the fuel as tank was quite low last week. I'm currently on shore line power so didn't think it was a voltage issue. One thing that I did discover was the burner head seemed to be melted away somewhat on the plate that faces the gauze face? Fingers crossed. Cheers
  2. hi all, The timing of this could not be worse. Our Webasto has decided not to fire up. For the last few days it was starting on the second cycle of the start up and quite alot of white smoke. Error flash code was 1 flash after 5 quick. It was cleaned recently, wasn't that much build up. It is also connected to a 7 day timer which is not firing her up automatically either. We rely on this system as we have no solid fuel. Any ideas on remedy? or what may need replacing? cheers a cold barossa
  3. Hi all, This is probably a really obvious question and apologies but just want some feedback. My Webasto would not fire up this evening until the 4th attempt. When it finally did there was some fierce smoke for the first few minutes. Now this is probably its way of telling me to make the time to de coke? The flashing code sequence on the timer unit was 2 flashes after the pulse of 5 flashes. I've been putting this job off for a while and was hoping to make it for another week before I tackled this job. Am I damaging the unit by multiple starts? Or should this be seen to immediately? And my worry as the weather this weekend is horrific. Ireland at the mo is swimming and blowing! cheers Barossa
  4. This photo was from the lift. it's hard to see but might give you an idea of clearance. I only have 1 main bolt holding the weed hatch down which is very firm always. The weed plate when I take it out is heavy and solid.
  5. I have a better photo just uploading now should be up in 5!
  6. Not sure of the clearance but will have a look tomorrow and see if I can work it out. This photo was taken early on during the build I 'll see if I can find any images from the lift. cheers
  7. Hi all, I am trying to solve an issue I am having with vibration during cruising. Mounts seem ok. Shaft seems in line, gland is firm and parallel, shaft is well lubed. Oil in both engine and gearbox, Prop seem secure and free of contact , What I was wondering was could this bottom plate on my weed hatch be the cause of vibration. ie; is it causing turbulance from cavitating? ( is that the right word? ) Anything over 1500rpm and it starts. Increasing with more revs It can be felt and heard up at the bow when cruising at this rev. This is the only photo I have from the build of the bottom plate Cheers and thank you in advance once again all. Chris / Barossa

  11. Hi all, A friend of mine has bought a 1975/79 Rugbyboats NarrowBoat. ( or so the survey states ) It's all steel and is 47 ft. I had a look for an ID number but could not find. We have very little to go on but want to try to find out it's history. He purchased through a broker who has been quite useless. Can anyone suggest some direction to begin the search. cheers and thanks.
  12. It is one of the MCB that is tripping cheers
  13. Hi all, I have a trip switch on my mains ring that keeps tripping only in the last few days. Everything on that side of the ring has been disconnected, and it is still tripping. Tried the ring into a different trip switch and this tripped also. All the power points seem to be dry. Any ideas of where to look next cheers
