  4. Have spoken to the boater near Nether Heyford today, he is convinced from things that were stolen that it was not the finch.
  5. Yes we do pay extra for legal and today we have met another boater that had a nasty experience with him yesterday. So thats 3 in less than 2 hours. Also if we had had a nasty experience with another boater there is no way I could have gone up a flight of locks with others without recounting my experiences ,unless of course I was in the wrong. Sounds like they were in a rush maybe they should choose another pastime.
  6. Not quite home we had to stop to clear up all the broken glass and mess. Didnt want dogs with cut paws. After that we just couldnt build up the energy to move. The icing on the cake would be if sue got the name of the smaller boat behind them. They witnessed it and said he had hit a lot mnre. The icing on the cake would be if sue got the name of the smaller boat behind them. They witnessed it and said he had hit a lot more. But yes tomorrow can only be better. Bit more than scuffs believe me. Just scuffs we wouldnt mind.
  7. to be honest we estimated a 55 footer could be wrong it was a bit hectic at the time thanks sue you are a star
  8. we were in the narrow bit it didnt swing across. So darn annoying we always give way if its close.
  9. To be honest as much as I would love to put the boat name , would it be correct to do so. On second thoughts do I care , no he deserves it the boat name was Cantley, elderly grey haired gent wearing navy bib and brace overalls.
  10. Well we are on the way back to our winter mooring , having been out since April. Today hubby decide to teach me a few basics. Big mistake I broke the dipstick , end of lesson. Any ideas where I can get a new one for an air cooled lister st3 to save me lol. Any way Mr grumpy and I got down Buckby flight , i hate those locks I am sure they are the hardest on the system , and decide to moor Dodford way. Things were calm again by now so were having a gentle cruise for aout 30 mins and going to moor for the night. As we approached a narrow bit we could see another boat coming towards us but we were a lot closer so continued , just as we were a third of the way through we saw the boat coming towards at a furious rate , hubby immediately whacked it in reverse , but he still kept coming , he hit us head on and the mess in the boat you would not believe , we also found out later we have considerable damage to the front of the boat. still he kept coming and pushed us back so he could get through, the guy on the front of his boat said its not me talk to the captain ,also looked as though he wanted to abandon ship. As he forced his way past he said sorry about that it wont go any slower , to which my husband replied have you no reverse, will you pull over and tie up. No way he was gone and we are 70 ft so cant turn just anywhere. A boat travelling behind him said he has been hitting everything all the while we have been following . The only conclusion we could make he was drunk, so we called BW and hopefully the patrol officer got him going up Buckby. I did manage to get boat name but not number. Nice welcome home , well almost back
  11. We met the boater who borrowed talets from us yesterday so even though we were there at the time , we didnt see anything .
  12. we were there then and spoke to a fellow boater , gave him some paracetemol as he had run out. Dont know his name but would think the right age group. Tend to remember folk by boat names
