  1. Hello, MtB To clarify: the boat builder bought the Hull as "sailaway", fitted it out and sold it to us.
  2. It's a modern Buzzer, and we've got nothing particularly heavy, not even a couple of tons of gold !
  3. Hello, The Uxter plate is 7" in the water The Skeg is 2" (50mm) I don't feel it appropriate to name names at the present time. Best Wishes G
  4. Thanks for all the advice folks, the boat builder/fitter out bought the Hull as a sail away with 38hp engine ballast and floor in place, we first saw it at the boat builders, and put a deposit on it. We were not involved with the specification, but had choices on interior layout. The boat builder/fitter out sold us the boat and is on the invoice. Ballast is brick, with no access. Draft is measured to bottom of Skeg. Think we'll have to get surveyor involved.
  5. Unfortunately the bow is quite low as well, but I haven't investigated that much yet!
  6. Thanks for that, it's a new boat, so we are trying to get sorted, but Hull manufacturer is blaming fitter out for not removing ballast, and fitter out is blaming Hull manufacturer, so we're getting nowhere, and not sure of how big a book to throw at fitter out (point of sale) !
  7. The stern on our narrowboat is about 5" lower in the water than intended by Hull manufacturer. The counter sits 7" below the water and the draft is 28". Does this matter?
