  1. Be worth a try, thanks sounds like a good challenge.
  2. Bugger, then a new calorifier, or Wallis heater, Thanks
  3. got the cap off, internal size is 25mm, would be a very small immersion, if calorifier is the original, its 40 years old.
  4. Its 1 1/2 inch, was hoping it was for a immersion, new calorifier, cost loads! Will look at 12v ones too, see if it will fit, Thanks
  5. Hi can anyone tell me what the tube with bolt in top is for, on my old calorifier, thanks.
  6. I'm moored at Bridgewater, as far as I know, don't do gas Cheers
  7. Yes, a boat lpg engineer, I should of made it clearer
  8. Hi, does anyone know of a lpg boat gas engineer, in watford, hertfordshire area. I need a cooker and hob connecting, and boiler disconnected and capped, on my narrowboat? Thanks Alex
  9. Took a while to get it started, smoke was dark, told it was burning oil. Thanks Would of kept running, but smoking out marina
  10. I got the torsion bar at last, and got engine going, Smoked like hell. Machanic said, engine needs complete rebuild, bugger, said it would cost £4000! Thanks for all the advice.
  11. Really, seemed like a nice bloke, till he went missing, he is going to cost me money, what have people been saying?
  12. Was pissing out of pipes going to injectors when disconnected
  13. Luckily last owner was paying him, was supposed to get boat going, but stopped contact, so annoying. Think ,I will find another mechanic
  14. Meant injectors, and yes, the pipes on top of engine
  15. Machanic undid pipes to injection pumps, to test flow. I did not have the boat, when this was happening, last owners mechanic told me, but he is not to be trusted. Ben, from Uxbridge, if anyone knows him.
  16. The mechanic thought lumpyness, was a faulty pump, so got a new one. So can't be that. There was plenty of fuel coming out of pipes, when my mechanic turned over engine, so, maybe glow plugs?
  17. Engine was fully serviced, by last owner, just before I got it, so I would hope, everything was checked then. Cheers
  18. I will try that, hopefully will do the trick. When I first got the boat, last September, last owner said it was lumpy, so brought new pump. Then would not start at all, her mechanic disappearing with torsion bar not helping. Thanks for advice.
  19. I am asking around, will fiddle around with engine at the weekend Thanks
