  1. Wow you really are strange. As I said, enjoy being the stereotype, I’ll join the other people who join this community then leave shortly later and go have a more interesting debate with a potato.
  2. I know. Where did my later post contradict that?
  3. Where did I say that? You’re intent on reading things that aren’t there. Regardless of who is in the right and who is in the wrong, driving your boat into someone is a dick move. Clear enough?
  4. Last time you were driving and someone in front of you was going slower than you’d like, selfish and obstructive or otherwise, did you drive into them? Last time when you were walking? When did you last pull your car over to let someone by? If you didn’t, did they drive into you? I follow tractors on the road all the time, and many don’t pull over. I don’t drive into them. Driving your boat into someone else is a dick move however you slice it up, even if you have the moral high ground. As I said previously, the response of the “professional” boaters on here is entirely unsurprising and in keeping with the stereotype. You have simply reinforced that.
  5. Perhaps your "friend" should speak for him or herself.
  6. Yes the standard battery life does seem pretty miserly, but I suppose given the size and weight there's not much to be done about that.
  7. I had an external battery connected to it constantly, ran it for approx 14 hours on a charge.
  8. Really? OK I'm in the wrong then. Frankly as we were approaching a lock with a queue of 4 boats and I was only going that slowly as there were multiple moored boats to pass, it didn't even cross my mind. ?
  9. So the point of bump is at 17 seconds, as we pass the dog walker. Sadly it's timelapse and no sound.
  10. If you revisit my contributions you will see this: "If the etiquette is to arrive at the queue as quickly as possible then help out then I am clearly in the wrong for pootling along. However the response is not to hit someone and yell at them." This is the point where I don't believe I'm "cock sure I was 100% in the right". My point about the response stands.
  11. ? No wallowing here. Only one person seems to be getting worked up.
  12. It’s quite hilarious how agitated you are given that you weren’t there. You’re absolutely certain beyond all doubt that this was my fault and you are the epitome of the angry “professional” boater. I’m terribly sorry that us “amateurs” are constantly clogging up “your” canals with our lack of knowledge and etiquette. At the end of the day, number of boats I drove into from behind this week: 0. Number who drove into me: 1. Try not to give yourself an aneurism old chap.
  13. There was no signal, until approx 1 second before impact. I have to say I’m enjoying it. Hopefully my historic wine temperature knowledge is proving entertaining.
  14. This is because the room temperature red wine is served at dates from centuries ago when rooms were colder. ??
  15. And there we have it, resorting to personal abuse within 4 pages. Well done, you get the prize. ? What a community this is!
  16. Indeed, it’s really quite amusing.
  17. Where did I say there was a line if boats from bridge 6? I said the other boat was behind us from around bridge 6, following, getting closer until the area on the map I marked. There were a number of moored boats facing each direction then a boat length gap, then 4 boats queuing for the lock. If the etiquette is to arrive at the queue as quickly as possible then help out then I am clearly in the wrong for pootling along. However the response is not to hit someone and yell at them. Incidentally, groups of unrelated people gathering together is frowned upon right now. Thank you.
  18. That’s your perspective which you are entitled to.
  19. Metal on metal followed by scraping alongside with no obvious attempt to slow down.
  20. Pulled over into a line of moored boats?
  21. You’re seriously defending someone who rammed me whilst I was passing a line of other boats? Wow. I didn’t, obviously. Between 6W and line of sight to the lock, he caught me up as I was idling along the closer I got to the lock.
  22. We’ll help if is needed but also respect others who wish to do it themselves. It’s not a race to see how quickly we can get all the boats through.
