  1. Today, I removed the glow plugs and raw water poured out of them, blew them out, replaced plugs and restarted. RCR arrived and determined that the was a small airleak in the exhaust/cooling system that allowed the raw water to slowly siphon back through and enter the exhaust ports at the pistons. He tightened all jubilees (which all had slack in them) told me to close the aforementioned stopcock to stop any further raw water to be siphoned back (I now know I should be closing this every night as good practice anyway!) and I need to replace the o ring on the lid to the box with the raw water cage filter in. Hope all that makes sense to you tech guys and thanks again for the quick and detailed feedback, every day is a school day!!! B
  2. Hi guys, my apologies for not updating on my last post last year, I was just happy to clear the blockage and get going again. That was solved by simply removing the stopcock on the other side of the mudbox, poking the blockage through with a coat hanger and hurriedly replacing the stopcock as the canal poured in!! Fun times!
  3. Hi folks, has anyone had an raw water cooled Isuzu 35 hydraulic lock with raw water before? Any ideas how the water is getting in? Is there a gasket between the heat exchanger and the block? TIA
  4. Hey all, so I have disconnected the inlet pipe and opened the valve fully and am getting only a drip through! Can anyone tell me what is between this valve and the canal flowing in??? I have poked about through the external grill but is there anything else in between that I'm missing??? Thanks
  5. Hi guys So, I have a raw water cooled Isuzu 35 in my Springer which has just started to pump out steam and then my overheating light came on soon after. Been running for only about 2hrs,mostly at tickover. Can anyone advise the best places to start looking to diagnose please? TIA Brett
  6. Did this and no problem, belts are off! Thanks guys, much appreciated!!
  7. Thank you! I'll add the winter issue to the extensive jobs list! ?
  8. Hey, thanks for the info, much appreciated! So, i could get away with either the pump removed OR the hoses disconnected, which would you go for?
  9. Hi all, first post on here so go easy!! I am trying to replace the alternator belts on my Isuzu 35 and there are 2 water pipes running into the wheel at the bottom centre of the engine which prevent the belts from coming off. My question is about the best way forward without damaging anything...remove the 2 water pipes individually or does the whole setup come away from the wheel with a bit of persuasion? Hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks
