We bought this a few years ago but my wife hasn't taken to it like she thought.
It's kept in immaculate condition by the syndicate - well worth a look if anyone is interested in getting a boat of their own - start here and see what you think.

People will only start paying attention when it's their own friends and family dying. But by then the virus will be so widespread.
Do they think that turning the Excel exhibition centre into a hospital has been done lightly ?
Jeez.

Self isolating on a boat is so so better than being in a house. You can move everyday if you want and still keep away from people.
Lots of boaters complaining about people passing them on the footpath ?
Seems a house would be a better bet for self isolation ?

Lockdown like they have abroad will be coming. That might help things.

Bloody scary. I've seen the cutoff is 60 in Italy and still people are treating this like it's a bank holiday. Off to the DIY shop for supplies. Nipping to the shop for some beers.
Awful times ahead.

Not when they have just come up a lock flight where there is a water point both at the top and bottom of the flight. A disposal point at the top and a winding hole within 500 metres!
Maybe going back to base ?

Ever considered that your superior country may be the first to manufacture such a vaccine?
Evidence needed for this. You're sounding like a crackpot now.

I'd not be going on a shared boat at the moment. You're at the mercy of whoever has been on the boat - they won't necessarily know if they're infected or not. Why risk it ?
If they have it - the upholstery will have the virus.
Sure it's a pain when it's your holiday - but please do not mess around with this virus. Healthy 30 year olds are dying. If your house is a safe haven now - stay there.
There will be holidays later on.

If your photo is backed up on Google photos - open it in there and hit the share it icon. There should be an option to send via Gmail.

I think that error was compounded by then managing to build the dock to the wrong dimensions too ?

8kg is about 9kg isn't it ?
I'd really not worry.

Apologies if this has already been posted - but great photos.
Hope the owner can get the boat back safely when this all dies down.
"Photographer Matt Short spotted this narrowboat sitting half on the towpath next to Barrow Road just outside Barrow upon Soar, near Loughborough . Its front end is sticking up in the air because it is balanced on what is obviously a very well-made barrier.
A member of staff at The Mooring pub nearby said: "It happened last week in the floods when the water came up really high."

No, leave it, it's the thin end of the wedge.
We were in Cork ,ROI in December and stoves are being banned completely there in a couple of years...
A sensible decision for Ireland. They're up there with Poland with using solid fuel to heat houses.
In its most recent air quality report, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) noted that 1,180 people die prematurely due to air pollution in Ireland every year. The report – published on World Lung Day – found that particulate matter (fine particles) from domestic burning of solid fuels was one of two main culprits of poor air quality. Nitrogen dioxide from vehicle emissions in urban areas was the other.

Beautiful looking boat.
None of us know why it's being sold but I'd be amazed if everyone's life plans went according to plan.

I'm pretty sure that the younger generation are more aware of dangers now than previous ones. They have YouTube and TikTok and Twitter and WhatsApp to see plenty of stunts going wrong.
The old fogies on here might have to ask their grandkids about these platforms.
It's getting very boring listening to old folks talk down the young.

Trouble is we had common sense mostly ....and parents that would tell you off for being stupid....that’s now lacking and everything is someone’s fault apart from their angelic brats.
Oh yes. Common sense is exclusive to the older generation. And each generation talks down the next generation.

Middlewich to Chester in a day’ish (3 day hire) or a day and a half‘ish (4 day hire), that sounds a bit of a push to me. If going to Chester is the big attraction how about Anglo Welsh at Bunbury.
Yes definitely need long days for that. And it's a lovely run but it's all typical English countryside. Not what our Norwegian pals want.

Don't worry CRT are doing all they can to attract cyclists, walkers and fishermen/women to the canals. Soon every towpath will be tarmaced because those people wouldn't want to get their booties and brightly coloured lycra all dirty with that nasty mud stuff.
You've never seen a mountain bike race.

As I say. I'm a keen cyclist. 20mph is pushing it. The vast majority of cyclists won't be that fast. Every car will be.
Cars kill hundreds each year.
Nobody's bothered as it's been normalised.

What about the quarter of a mile or so past our local school with its 20mph limit? I am sure some can and do go faster than they should.
Are they going past the cars ? 2 tonnes of metal at 20mph is lot more dangerous than 80kilos doing 20mph.

Ah that's that there London - odd things happen there. Don't think it was speeding - riding furiously is usually the charge.

Presumably not illegal to pedal one at more than 15.5 mph though, rather than relying on the motor?
If so, it would be hard to prove!Perfectly fine to pedal any bike over 15.5 mph.
I don't believe speed limits apply to bicycles as they don't require speedometers and realistically nobody is going to get past 30 mph for any period of time unless they're professional standard.
I can catch e bikes using my normal bike but I'm sure I'm going to get passed on a hill one day by an e bike. If it's steep they have the advantage.

Aah. Yes. I've swam at HPP too. A lot of geese poo. Yuk.
Much nicer in the Lakes !

Perhaps they are doing takeaway coffees and food too ? Then their tables aren't tied up ? Should be a bit of passing traffic there ? Good luck to them.
