Do they? After a month in a Marina and not even having taken the boat out, yeh must be experts as have over 30 Vlogs out?Looking at when they moved on he didn’t even know what a fender was.? yeh may get popular with Foreign watchers, non boaters and dreamers, but not real world boaters?

I mean they seem to know what they are doing ... about vlogging... dont think people watch a new boat owner to learn how to do stuff, I guess people are interested to know how other people get started, and where they fail or just pure fun of watching other people do stuff.

I have a house but still watch grand design and home under hammer (no idea why, I would never do any of those stuff)

think 'the real boater' youtube video market is rather small, so it makes little financial sense to make video targeting them.

Just watched another new couple who started a Vlog, who have just bought a new boat from New and Used now moored in Mercia Marina, have never had it out yet and still they have over 30+ Vlogs on their YouTube. They have also just bought a new car so a case of New Boat, New Car, New Marina Mooring, New life on a floating Estate. Their Vlog is “Love_life_triumph”  they will be experts in walking around with a selfie stick in no time? Why do New boaters think they are doing something new that 1000’s haven’t already done before and think they need to show everyone in a Vlog?

think it has been mentioned a few times, but you get to earn money if people watch your video, does not matter what you do, some earn thousands of pounds just watching other youtube videos and 'reacting' to it. (bit like gogglebox for youtube)

this vlogger will get popular... they do seem to know what they are doing.

Someone has done a vlog reviewing all the other boaty vlogs out there and no I haven't watched it, so its at your own risk.

I saw it yesterday... and checked each vlog he mentioned. Thought I will find some hidden gem before it gets famous, I was wrong.

Have to agree with you about the Foxes (I'm sure Colin and Shaun are delighful in person but their delivery seems rather theatrical).

I forgot one more on my list Robbie Cumming. Well produced technically, confident narration, interesting topics (though I tend to fast-forward through his Crank-It crew listings).

yes, Robbie is a pro, he got a bbc series already

  5. Have watched a few episode of 'sort of interesting', likable chap. Dont like foxes afloat because of their clickbait title and annoying high energy exited voice. Its not that easy to make a good vlog, plenty of them with weird camera work and cringe-worthy screen presence.

But you are still making the assumption that cooking and cleaning is a 'feminine' activity - something that sails close to the wind in the gender Equality part of the legislation - rather like dolls for girls at Christmas and model trucks or Lego for boys.

    I dont, he did.

Now its just that sort of behaviour that kindles just the tiniest spark of pride in being British in this dreary swamp of doing what we are told, observing all the rules, being registered for this that and the other, being watched by cameras and generally being turned into automatons. Top bloke as the young people say.

    Mad lad!!!... respek!!!

Very nice. Yes, I have noiced Apollo Duck does actually seem to have a lot of the wider beam GRPs available. More liveable but restricted to where I could go. Mind you, I could start with one of those and get a narrowboat eventually:)

yes, good idea. Narrowbeam GRPs are extremely cramped I am told (I have never owned a boat)

  9. Foxes afloat make high quality production videos but I dont like their presentation style (loud, unnecessary hype), may be because my first narrowboat vlog was 'cruising the cut'. I also heard they tested the limit of initial lockdown in march/april. Don't like people who openly violet spirit of rules(if not technically) and take pleasure in telling everybody.

  10. Ah the dog thread is still running.

I hate people who have big aggressive dog breeds and expect everybody to think their dog is gentle. And the idea that a any dog can be made obedient and non-threatening is utter bs. Some dogs are bred genetically to attack/fight and can cause serious harm to humans & other dogs. No amount of training can contain the genetic drive 100%. An aggressive chihuahua can probably leave a few puncher wounds in my flesh but an aggressive dog like staffie or rottie can kill me probably.

internet is full of people(especially americans) gushing over pitt bull smile and saying things like 'there are no bad dogs, only bad dog owner/parent'
