  1. Thanks I’ll be checking this weekend
  2. Back in November I noticed a small leak at the top of my calorifier that came up from within the insulation and was running down the outside and wettted the floor. I think this had been an issue for some while as my water pump had began a small rattle every 10 minutes or so a few months before. Anyway taking the bull by the horns I did some research and bought a new unit from Telford Cylinders in Manchester as they were advertising twin coil units for Narrowboats. the units matched each other for size bar some changes in pipeing from the back to the front and after a good weekend of work all was up and running. The engine warming up water fine. The eberspacher warming the rads when on fine. The following weekend ( I do not live aboard) I noticed the water pump was still pumping as before when not required. no leaks were present anywhere so we suspected pressure leaking back through the pump to the water tank. Two weeks later we filled the tank for a Christmas Cruise to Birmingham and noticed the pump would not stop. Found water under back steps and further investigation found water under pressure leaking from side of calorifier. so somehow this new calorifier is now caput. there has been no heavy frosts or freezing conditions at all since it was installed. My mate who fitted it has suggested perhaps the pump fluttering all the time has raised the pressure sufficiently to blow it and the SRV has also failed. while I was away from the boat prior to finding out about this failure my neighbor informed me that my eberspacher was clicking on once a day for an hour. Could this have any thing to do with it? Also I never leave my pump on when away from the boat anyway. or have I been supplied a duff cylinder?
