  1. That's really annoying it didn't show on my canalplan route. What tools (if any) do you use to plan trips? She real alright. 100 years old and getting surveyed tomorrow so all fingers and toes crossed that she comes up trumps.
  2. I hope it is ok to spark up this thread as it covers a bit of what I am trying to understand. My husband and I are very close to buying a dutch barge. Due to work commitments we will be based around Gloucester and given that we want a barge that will be able to handle tidal waters. The barge is currently in London and we are looking at cruising it along the k&a. I haven't been able to find concrete info on the clearance of the Bruce Tunnel. does anybody have this info handy? Also with my reading I am getting a little concerned about the depth. Can anybody shed some light on this? the barge is 13ft wide, draft 3ft, air draft 6ft
  3. Thanks @Bee, I really appreciate your input. That goes for all of you, @roland elsdon, @Mike the Boilerman, @alan_fincher
  4. Thanks @Bee and @Mike the Boilerman both good points. It has this beautiful oval shaped wheel house with stunning windows which has given me a strong desire for her but your probably right, she might just brings years of heartache and there are plenty of great little (big) boats out there.
  5. Survey comments - vessel clean and dry, easily accessible, truss distance 400mm, alpha size skin / bottom 3mm chinning 3.5mm
  6. I'm hoping this picture might be better. Is there an option to put a new hull on it? I'm not sure if it's rebutted or not. She is some 90 years old so more than like is right?
  7. The bottom has been pretty much over plated, the grey areas and the parts with horizontal lines. Then, using google translate it says skin which I am thinking is hull is 3mm Thats what I have looked into, but with this much work if i wanted to sell it in the years to come, with this extensive over plating would it scare people off?
  8. We've fallen in love with a dutch barge located in the Netherlands. The perfect project we've been looking for. Only problem the old survey looks like the hull is a little light. Are there any options here?
