  1. Hi guys, I've invested in a 400w solar panel and a victron mppt smart controller. Just a quick question for the electrical wizards, it came with 2 125v dc breakers, a c25 one and a c63 one, I take it the breaker goes in between the mppt and the battery bank but which one do I use? I have 960ah battery bank. Do I need to connect the mppt directly to the batteries or is it ok connecting it after the battery isolator, would it damage something if the battery isolator was in the off position??
  2. Hi guys little help please! I'm installing... or trying to install a victron bmv-712 battery monitor. I've looked all over the net and I cant figure out quite how to wire the shunt. I realise that it goes between the negative of my battery bank and the main negative bus bar. But, does my alternator feed go into the main bus bar or on the battery side of the shunt? I'm 70% sure the alternator will connect to the main bus bar... but just want to make sure and victron support lines are closed. Thanks Alex
  3. brill, thanks for the speedy reply!
  4. hi guys, i'm part way through the fit out of my new sailaway. I have the majority of the electrics in so far and just have a quick query regarding the RCD's. I have installed a Victron Multiplus 3000, and between this and the 240v ring I have installed an RCD with a 16amp breaker. I have also installed a hull fitting for the shore power, my question is this, do I need to install an RCD between the shore power inlet and the Victron inverter/charger to protect it? Thanks!
  5. That's a diesel line for the stove next to the water pipes but I'll read up on the regs!
  6. Thanks guys I thought that was the case but just wanted to make sure! Getting some cables in today
  7. hi guys, this is my first post! took delivery of a sailaway a few weeks ago, just getting to the stage of the electrics. It will be mainly a 12v boat, lights, fridge, tv etc. my question is - if I am hooked up to shore power are the batteries still feeding the 12v items whilst being charged? or does the inverter / charger systems feed the 12v while hooked up to the mains? (i am yet to purchase the inverter / charger). Thanks in advance!
