Marc I must say it’s a little disappointing to receive such a condescending response when I though I had been pretty generous in my praise. It might need to be pointed out that the only reason I spent just 3 days doing the Grand Union was that I didn’t mess around with a mere 20 to 27 mile per day pace, and averaged around 44. Plus, it seems that despite your rather rude bivvy bag comments, you seem to have bailed completely on that idea and stayed in comfortable hotels. So much for the intrepid explorer. Did you take that photo of you with the stick by the tunnel entrance as your Grinder profile picture?

Hi Marc. That’s so cool what you’re doing. I walked the Grand Union Canal (as far as Birmingham) in 3 days and I wish i’d Gone further. If you actually manage this you will kind of be my hero. Would you like to do it again with a friend? I don’t mess around though. Your pace would have to significantly increase. Also, I spent all the nights in bivvy bags but mine doesn’t sound as high spec as yours. Maybe in February I didn’t need it. I wish I had such a high end bivvy bag as you.
