Only my second post so I hope that I don't get to much flak!!! We are looking at a 60 ft trad that was built in 1995, has had one owner and , to my limited experience is in very good condition inside and out. we are going to have a second look shortly and if all goes well we will be putting in an offer, subject to survey of course. I have a few questions that I am hoping you good people can help me out on. 1. Would I be correct in saying that some degree of pitting may be present on some areas of the hull. I know that the present owner has blacked it every two years. How deep does it go before it becomes a problem. ( obviously 7mm is a disaster , but you know what I mean) The hull was 10mm when built by R&d fabrications. 2. As I live at present down in Dorset and the boat is up near macclesfield can anyone give me a name of good surveyor and dry dock or slipway for a survey. 3. Would a full survey or hull only be the experts advice. As I have said the condition is very good and it will be liveboard and we will(honest) be continually cruising. any help will be most welcome.
