  1. You want to get political. It's about the colonization of Europe and it's official. https://youtu.be/qj9qg7Gylh4
  2. Why bother answering then? Is this forum so full of idiots that they can't just answer the f..ing questions without bringing in dive bombing stukas?
  3. I thought this forum was for people with boating related questions, not a Political Correctness debate about how questions are asked. If people don't like the way I ask my questions, then please just DON'T ANSWER. I have better things to do than wade through your petty insecure inuendoes. NO REPLIES NEEDED!!
  4. Thanks, X Alan, at last, a helpful answer without any leftie PC rhetoric.
  5. Ha Ha, No it's not Jayda. For Athy Jayda is head of Britain First a political group
  6. Has anyone on the French canals had any problems with the economic migrants that have flooded Europe?
  7. Fantastic, thanks for the best help ever.
  8. What a great website. Thanks. I am also thinking about going over to France. I wonder if there is such a great website like that with French fuel charges?
  9. Thanks, everyone. Except the Troll Graham Davis. "ALSO wondering" brings another question into the forum. What's your problem?
  10. "ALSO wondering" brings another question into the forum. What's your problem?
  11. Thanks, I am also wondering (Not Worrying) about the cost per ltr on the French canals. The Draft of the metal craft is 0.80.
  12. Slight mistake 55hp. Dutch Steel Cruiser| 11.80m | 1978 | 2x diesel 55hp | Steel Construction | Full-Displacement underwater profile | 4 sleeping berths
  13. How much is diesel for canal boats? and how much fuel would I use a day with a twin 65hp boat?
  14. Thank you that was most helpful, I will go take a look at the link you have sent me. I am now getting an overall picture what I have to do and what to expect. This forum has also given me an insight into some of the questions I will need to ask French sellers if I choose to buy in France.
  15. Shame you don't have Private Messages on this forum or I would answer Tam and Di in a more aggressive manner. Please enlighten me as to just who the hell he thinks he is being so rude that he thinks his time is more valuable than anyone else's? The questions I have asked are questions I needed answering and assumed I was on a civilized forum. I object to being called a Troll and a waster of his precious time.

  16. Thanks, Martyn someone gave me a link to that and I have looked into the online exam. Thanks again for the help. Most people have been very helpful to this "New to Boating." newbie.
  17. I was grateful for all the helpful replies I received on the thread of "Hull displacement" I received the answers I was after, it's just that I thought it had gone off topic and only wanted to stop wasting peoples time with that topic and I only wanted to move on to something else. Sorry if I offended the sensibility of a few who if stayed with the 2nd topic would have understood where I was going with my question. Being called a troll is very disrespectful of someone asking questions under the banner of "New to Boating". And I can assure you I am not a "CRAP WASTER OF PEOPLES TIME" I have asked genuine questions and only wanted honest and helpful answers, which 99.9% of people have done.
  18. So if I buy a boat in France I will need an ICC, Proof of VAT being paid, Proof of purchase, Proof of Insurance, and a Radio license, but as I'm British will the boat be UK flagged or French?
  19. How many licenses do you need in France?
  20. How is it people can just turn up and hire boats on the French canals, and I'd need a ICC?
  21. I am thinking about buying a Dutch Steel boat in France and just cruising the French canals for 6 months. I had a boat on the Thames about 20 years ago. I had a radio license, would I have to re-take that exam again? I never had any other certificates. Would I need any operator certificates just to cruise the French canals? PS. I do like the look of the Birchwood TS37 but maybe too big for canal cruising.
  22. Thanks to EVERYONE for all that helpful information. How about buying a Dutch Steel boat in France and just cruising the French canals. I had a Fairline Carrera, and a Dawncraft on the Thames about 20 years ago. I had a radio license, would I have to re-take that exam again? I never had any other certificates. Would I need certificates just to cruise the French canals?
