  1. Hi all I need my hull blackened. I am in Aldridge and have boat booked in at Norton Canes, Tamworth but it's quite a trek and I can't live aboard whilst being done. Someone suggested Craggy's in Tipton but the landline number given does not work. Does anyone have any recent contact details for them, are they still in operation? Thanks Thomas
  2. Thanks I will investigate Caldwell and speak to other owners in Marina. Does anyone know if there is a 2nd hand demand for old single glazed narrow boat windows?
  3. No I want timber framed. all the boats in my Marina have timber double glazing and they swear by it. Aluminum makes no sense!
  4. I need my single glazed aluminum windows replaced. They leak and are horrible in winter and can't be bothered with film glazing every season. Does anyone know someone who can supply? Thanks Thomas
  5. Hi all Glad to say, I resolved all issues including a gas leak and now passed BSC at 3rd visit! A real learning experience and aware of so much more safety issues on my home now, well worth the stress! Thomas
  6. Could well have been dodgy and feel like exposing the examiner? In hindsight should have requested an BSC before buying, but was naive. Thanks for the advice. Is there a standard fuse to use or is it dependant on what its powering. In my case 12v does lights, water pump and central heating pump. All sockets and fridge are 240 volt.
  7. I recently bought a NB and the BSC expired a few months later. Assumed as it passed before it would be a formality but boy was I wrong. Apparently, the regs have changed and its now all about fire and explosion. He failed me on not being able to see all the joints in gas pipework, water in gas lockers (drain is slightly above bottom of locker so does not completely) and not having fuses in all 12v cables. There were a few other things too. Anyone got any advice on fusing the 12v cables? Thanks
  8. Hi all Thanks for all the responses. I took the shower head and ran without and the water was piping hot so cleaned the shower head out and its running like a dream! Thanks for the advice, happy I can have a shower now, feels more like home. Just need to get the basin tap sorted now. This is a mixer too but it does not fire up the boiler at all when opened so presume its only letting cold water through?
  9. Thanks for that. In the kitchen the flames cycles on and off too but it gets really hot so do you think its a pressure issue?
  10. Hi I just bought my first bought so relatively inexperienced with all the kit. Hot water onboard is done by Paloma gas heater located in kitchen, the bathroom is located after the bedroom which is next the kitchen. Water in kitchen is piping hot but water in shower is luke warm at best. Tried increasing pressure by introducing a little cold water on mixer so flame does not keep dropping out but to no avail. Any suggestions please as can't really shower in it when it this cold. The basin tap is knackered so can't tell if that get good hot water supply. Thanks
