agree with Tree Monkey it needs to be let go which is difficult when every time I visit the Thunderboat I find posts about CWDF (not just that but comments mingled in with other threads.   Not that I visit often, but I am always left thinking "Why is it still going on?"

You know the answer to that don't you - just don't go over there. If it's not for you then just don't go.

The answer is because they can and they want to - you constantly asking why is not going to get you a different or better answer and if you can't get your head around that then that's just tough really.

You have no idea what it was like JonV was banned for a true comment on Argentina! It was a nightmare time and the forum hasn't really recovered from it

Peter - both forums are doing just fine. Nobody is saying it wasn't bad at the time or that every body has to forgive and be BFFs again but nothing is gained by constantly going on about it. There are wind up merchants who will use what happened as a tool to cause mischief for no other reason than they like mischief, and then there's every body else (regardless of which forum they post on)  just getting on with their own lives thinking that a stramash isn't worth the effort. There is no "them and us" anymore, we are not the jets and the sharks, we are all just a bunch of folk who have moved on and maybe post on one form or maybe post on two.

It's winter and people are bored so nobody is going to convince me that any poking and goading is truly about what happened 4 years ago.

I can understand the feeling at first but 4 years on it should have ceased to hold grudges for so long isn't IMO normal or healthy.

You would if you knew how it was done Foxy was banned and they never even told him!! I remember because he was over from Finland and was visiting me in my boat

Guys this is not letting go - letting go is just not posting - nobody needs to keep replying. Nobody has anything to say that hasn't been said before so please, just stop.

Think of it as therapy - I could post but it's ok I can choose not to post and then it will all pass painlessly.

Let me leave you with a little wisdom.....

I personally wouldn't care as it is frosted, not sure how female visitors would feel.

That might depend on how often she cames to visit, if she doesn't visit often and wasn't sure whether or not out side could actually see in then she might not feel particularly comfortable at all but if she was used to it and was aware of the privacy level then she might be fine with it.

I have a frosted glass window in front of my shower and I went out into the garden to check the transparency so I don't mind mine but I wouldn't instantly trust a window I didn't know. Though it shouldn't really be such an issue if showering in day light as apposed to night time.

Not all frosted glass is the same and what might seem fine in daylight can get pretty transparent to anybody out side when it's very dark out and you have a very bright LED light inside.

    You really are an A**E

People were for no reason thrown off this forum everybody knows it, yes the problem is sorted but members on the other forum who were crapped on formed another forum which works by self moderation, it works well other members take idiots to task or just plain ignore them. Plenty exist on both forums and enjoy them both, but childish comments like your just convince me that they are right not to want to come back here, which in all honesty is this forums loss

Seriously - I have Disney and I'm not afraid to use it. ?

I’ll give that a try on our green drive :)

Soda crystals will also kill it off, I don't know for sure but it might come back quicker than if you used the bio powder but it would be more environmentally friendly in the long run. Just an option.

  7. It might depend what they all wash their boats with. l've noticed when washing with different products (one in one place then run out and wash the rest with something else) that the green cames back quicker with one wash but not the other; that was with a plastic boat but the green was all the same stuff.

The Co-oP used to do a floor wipe cloth that was brilliant, after I first noticed this I did a little experiment where I cleaned a very specific patch with a Co-oP floor wipe and then left it, the patch I cleaned with the wipe stayed not-green for much longer than the area that was cleaned at the same time but with something else - can't remember what the something else was now.

I know, I know you can't clean your whole boat with floor wipes but I just thought it was interesting; they're very good for nooks and bits though.

  8. I have to say I will miss Tim and Pru. Tim was a bit bumpy and a bit grumpy but he was still likeable and interesting, Pru was so lovely, she seemed to perfectly combine her wonderful etherial quality from being and artist and thespian with her down to earth just get on with it practicality. She was always quite spritely while having a little mumble about old age catching up with her. I can understand why experienced boaters found them difficult to watch sometimes but of all the narrowboat programmes I've seen off the tele their was for me definitely the best by a long shot.

I do hope that even though they are giving up the series they won't be giving up their own boat.

    Giles Brandreth

Oh at last his full name - I was beginning to think I'd have to click on a dreaded dailymail link. I've just had a search for our new host Giles Brandreth and I'm thoroughly disappointed. ?

Well well, turns out a cart load of supposition has been posted on here, especially as to who tied the boat up, who is responsible for the damage etc etc. You'll all have to go and look at the other channel.... Go on, be brave.????

As seven eighths of CWDF members are also members over there I'm not sure why you think anybody needs to be brave. Not to mention the whole stramash happened 4 years ago so I doubt anybody cares who's on which forum anymore. Hardly the great giggle that 4 emojis would suggest.
