WATERWAYS enthusiast Colin Ogden has put a 200-year-old stone mile marker back in its original place beside the Lancaster Canal.
The Burnley heating engineer told the Gazette that Graham Wilson, owner of a section of disused canal at Larkrigg Farm, Natland, gave permission for the work.
Mr Ogden, who runs the Owd Lanky Boaters Group on Facebook, has also painted the arch of Bridge 180 on Mr Wilson's land and plans to re-point all the stonework and install bridge number plates made to an original design,we are hoping to start work soon on restoration of a wooded section of canal bed nearby.
