  1. We are presently at Alrewas, heading for Great Haywood and then the Staffs and Worcs. We're probably too far behind but will keep an eye out in case it doubles back like Chilton.

Meanwhile, I'll report this on the blog and alert the Braidbar Owners Group who are all over the system.

I'm 5 miles south of Norbury and heading to Market Drayon today so will keep my eyes peeled as it seems to be heading same direction as the last....

  2. I've noticed one of the copper pipes going to the top of the engine where the oil caps are is blowing air... I assume this might be the cause of the bad combustion and heavy white smoke. Anyway I am going to have a mess tomorrow and hopefully get down to the problem.

  3. How do you work an engine of that size? you need a good thrash on the river.

    Hi Linda.

Yes we are heading to a river so will be able to give it a good testing then.

  4. I've recently bought a new boat which has a reconditioned kelvin k4 engine. Now I've been cruising along ok but i've noticed lots of white smoke and even more recently it seems to cut out when in gear and give out lots of black smoke. The engine seems to run fine not in gear and i've checked the prop is clear. The oil level is slightly over the full mark on the dipstick. I noticed a jabsco pump that had a little twisty valve on the top of it that had been leaking some oil?

    I've got lots to learn...

  5. There is always information 'out there', it all depends upon where you look, who you ask and much you are prepared to put yourself out captain.gif

Are you interested because this is an 'historic' boat or because you a potential purchaser ?

Where have you looked for information so far ?

Interested because of the historic side. Not finding much history and what she was involved in.
