Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone has had any difficulty this year with low water levels on the Lancaster?
I have a 45' Liverpool NB, draught 28" and I'm continually leaning to port when passing other boats. Ballast is all ok & no water in there at all. I've heard off other boaters that when you pass each other the water is "stolen" from you when it is shallow? I guess if the depth is only approx 36", there's not much room left underneath?? Bit of a novice with narrowboats, so not sure if that's right or not? I had an Atlanta 24 before & of course V hull - no problem! Seems worse around Garstang town centre.
Think there was something in Towpath Paper a while ago that there was a problem with the main water feeder into the canal (not sure where) but surely thats been rectified now?
Look forward to hearing your comments folks.
Thanks a lot. Frankie M.
