Just took possession of our boat on Monday. It appears we have a heck of a lot of those 8 legged demons from hell crawling around ? Got some "no more spiders" to try and get rid of them and done around the doors with "spider x", hopefully it works.

I'll have a look next week once we've actually bought her and get a few pics, it has occoured to me that it was the sales bloke that told us it has an aquadrive, its not mentioned on the details, just says shaft drive. Well I'll find out soon

We have just had a survey report back for a boat we are buying. Hull is in excellent condition however there is substantial play in the prop shaft and the stern tube is oval shaped. It was an external survey only and the surveyor suggested that the engine mounts may need to be replaced. I don't believe that he knew it had an aquadrive and its my understanding that these mean that alignment is not such a big issue, I'm just curious as to how this wear may of occurred. It's our first boat, I'll learn eventually

Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately the survey on the wooden topped boat was Erm.... Not good.... We've have found another (all steel) boat though and are waiting on a survey to be done on her

My name is Graham and I've spent 15 minutes on a trip boat once, we have now soldup in Scotland and are in the process of buying a boat to live on. Getting a survey on a 47ft with a wooden cabin next week. Can't wait!!
