  1. Thanks for all the info, i'm sure it'll be a great help come the spring. Although I'm now motivated to start a little sooner as the sun is shining.
  2. Thanks IDS. Once I have removed the paint would you recommend using something like Fertan or just use a decent primer?
  3. First time here so apologies if this has been covered but I can't find it. So I recently took all the paint of the well deck and bow lockers with an angle grinder and sanding flap disk as they were quite rusty. I got it back to bare metal and then thought the best way to clean up the mess would be with a hose to flush it all overboard. Anyway, the water obviously (in reterospect) caused the bare metal to start to oxidise overnight and so when I came to prime the next day there was a faint coat of light rust. Given that it was the well deck I wasn't too concerned about painting over this discolouartion, however, I plan to do the roof and sides at somepoint in the future. So my question is What is the best way to clean the roof sides once you're back to bare metal and have removed all the old paint, is washing it off ok or is this light layer of oxidised metal an issue when I come to repaint? Thanks WMB Ps, Is there an easier way to get paint off and how far back should I go - is bare metal too extreme?
