  1. The black cap was in place so that is not the fix. The whistling sound comes from the main body of the unit.
  2. The boat is about 10 years old and I've had it about a year. The noise has always been there. It definitely needs attention.
  3. The noise is coming from the unit itself and not the silencer which I have checked, thanks.
  4. I have neighbours close by so that's my main concern.
  5. I am moored on the Grand Union near Hemel Hempstead. I'm looking for someone to fix my Eberspacher preferably not too far away as I don't fancy dismantling it myself. It does heat the water and central heating but makes a loud whistling noise.
  6. I have used my bike pump to put air into the expansion tank and, up to now, the pump is working as it should, ie it turns off after I've used a tap. I did this last night and my neighbours can't see how this has been the fix. Any ideas?
  7. The new PRV is 3psi as the previous one. I've had the boat a year and it's only just started to happen. The pump has been replaced as it states it was manufactured in 2014. The boat is 10 years old. The pump is a Shurflo Trail King 10 and is 30psi.
  8. After turning off a tap the water pump does not switch off and pumps out water via the overflow pipe into the canal. Consequently I have to switch the water pressure switch on/off when I need to put a tap on. It has suggested that the PRV may be faulty so I have replaced it and has made no difference. Could the water pump or the expansion tank be the problem please?
  9. Does anyone know of an effective solution to removing green mould from the topside of a boat? Does pure alcohol work?
