  2. Hi there. Earlier this year we replaced our 240v fridge unit with a 12v shoreline RR5010 fridge with small freezer box. The unit has worked well during the summer. However we are on our home mooring with a shore line to power for when we leave the boat during the week. On Wednesday of this week I visited the boat only to find the fridge had failed and all ice and lollipops in the freezer compartment had melted and leaked all over the floor. When I increased the thermostat on the fridge the motor would not start up. I turned the fridge off and waited half hour. I then turned the fridge on and the compressor started. I assumed all was working fine and left the boat. I did place a call to Shoreline who told me it sounded like a loss of power, I explpained I did not think this possible, he advised he'd look in to it and call me back, I'm still waiting for that call. I returned to the boat this morning only to find that the fridge was not working again, bearing in mind this is a new unit, I phoned shoreline to question what could cause this, again!! This time I spoke with someone who told me that as the temperature in the boat had dropped below 14 the freezer unit would not cut in due to the cold ambient temperature....... Ok... Sorry about dragging the explanation out, had anyone had this happen to them or is it a yarn that shoreline are giving me.... I very much look forward to hearing your advise Many thanks Christian - Grey Goose Narrowboat
