  1. I'm about to purchase a TV, and was going to go for a smart one so I can indulge my HOuse and Breaking Bad obsessions via Netflix. I have the 3 Huawei E5330 10gb (possibly 15gb) but can't find out what speed it is. Apparently Netflix needs 10 mbps. Anyone have any ideas?

    Lights

I want to replace two 12v wall lights for something more to my taste. Can I just replace with normal B&Q lights, or am I stuck with "outdoor" lights?
  3. Thanks everyone. Next weekend it is then.
  4. Anybody know "how" frozen the cut is though between Worcs and Hanbury?
  5. Any input from anybody between Worcester and Hanbury (canal not river) as to how much ice is around? Could get my boat back this weekend but as it's just been blacked I'd like to keep it in that state so thinking I might leave it until next weekend. Any thoughts?

  12. I currently have a stove with a back boiler ready to go, complete with 3 new radiators. Nothing is plumbed in and I have no intention of using them - in fact intend to change it all for a Morso squirrel once the weather improves a bit. Don't know where you're based Groundhog but maybe worth having a chat and seeing if my set up would suit your boat?
  13. AndyEd, sorry I've only just seen your post. Thanks for the offer but now have a team of 4 at the ready so hopefully we'll be making good time.
  14. Aw thanks for the concern Sea Dog. But no, I'm coming from the marina so no need to duck the M5. Don't fancy that! Also I've had a very kind offer of help so fingers crossed it'll all be good
  15. Hi Sea Dog I'll be going on the nice B&W and avoiding any river adventures at this time of year! Reason I ask though is, as a newbie I know I won't be as fast as somebody more experienced and with limited daylight etc could do with a hand
  16. I ordered one of these yesterday. More to minimise condensation during the very cold weather in the engine room. http://www.coopersofstortford.co.uk/coopers-of-stortford-45w-room-heater-with-cover-prodst08528i/
  17. I'll be taking my boat down for blacking at Diglis basin on Saturday and just wondered if anybody fancies braving the cold (although meant to be dry until 3pm) and helping out with the locks? I have at least one person to help, but think the other one may cancel on me so if you're nearby and fancy it, do let me know! There will be plenty of tea, coffee and home made spag bol available
  18. Apologies for my run off topic. I blame, well, me. Ignore the thing about the invertor / charger. I was talking rubbish. Invertor is NOT on, shoreline is. Have (finally) worked out how to switch the separate charger on and now all seems ok. Back to the LEDs - can't believe it's so complicated! Everyday is indeed a school day.
  19. Cheers, will look into it. I prefer "mood lighting" to harsh brightness anyway. Hides the greys
  20. Hi Dean - definitely the second type. Lots of answers there, thanks guys. Also, I'm on shorepower now but have the invertor on with a battery charger too (toilet doesn't flush without it). I should say I'm brand new to this and the boat was fitted out by the previous owner. Should I not have the invertor on?
  21. Morning all Although I don't use them that much, I have a lot of ceiling spotlights throughout the boat which are halogen and about half of them have blown. I know they use a lot of energy, so want to swap to LED but is this a simple process or will I need a transformer? The bulbs I have at the moment read 12V 50W C13. These look similar in shape but before I buy just wanted to check if it's worth it? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Focusled%C2%AE10X-spotlight-lighting-Bright-400-450LM/dp/B00HED3ZGC/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t Thanks
  22. Hi Loddon Is the E5531 still available - and what do you want for it?
  23. That's how to live your life! Love it, and best of luck! I'm very new to this myself, will be living aboard from the new year and just want to thank people for their replies to my questions so far. Many more to come!
  24. I've just purchased my 57ft nb, and the guy who fitted it out intended to retire on it but changed his mind. Included in the sale is the existing stove (not sure of the make but looks like this - http://www.yeomanstoves.co.uk/stove/county-wood-burning-and-multi-fuel-stove/) and 3 radiators fitted throughout the boat plus a towel radiator in the bathroom. The back boiler is also included, but nothing is plumbed in. He has left space just behind the stove for it to be put in place. As I can't use the stove to cook on I'm intending to change it for a Morso Squirrel at the end of the summer. Would you recommend that I plumb in the back boiler or is it more hassle than its worth - and if so, should I wait until I change the stove anyway?
  25. Thanks Kendal. Aim to spend most of my time on the shallower network, although there may be some time on the Severn so I'll consider it. Happy Christmas
