  1. Many thanks for all the replys people,it looks like we will have to give that boat up and carry on seaching closer to home, wife set her heart on this one but i guess its back to the drawing board, fingers crossed on looking our budget is around £39,000 tops but some we have looked at are in really bad state for what the asking price is. Anyway folks many thanks again for the replys will keep you posted for the search for our home.

    Catch 22

afternoon all a newbie here been reading the forum for some weeks now and some great advice has been given out,i hope some one can point me in the right direction. We are at the moment doing some research into moving full time onto a narrow boat mooring up in a marina in our home town we have done most of the research ie cost etc and it looks all ok on paper, sell the house find a place at the local marina buy a boat move aboard job done, the stumbling block for us is when you sell the house we will have to move out do we rent for six months and look for the right boat because when you leave your house the money is transferd in your account on the day of completion so we will not have time or the money looking for a boat before hand, is there any way around not renting because it would cost us a lot of money min rent is 6 months we only need about 2 months max to look for a boat, has anybody been in this situation before and also all the items well most will need to be sold off do we have a open house auction many thanks for the replys.
