  1. Just a heads up Im wanting a boat mostly to run off 12v, not a live on boat
  2. Its not even bolted down. Its never been run to move the boat since it was fitted ( not really fitted just dropped in the boat ). As i think and what i have been told its the completely wrong engine for the boat. Ill update some pictures as it might be some interest to somebody. That won`t be until the weekend as the boat is 15 miles from me and im working 7-4 everyday, Ill take pictures of the full boat.
  3. I got told its a landrover engine that has not been marine-ised?!? well at least i got told that by a few at the boat yard & to buy a brand new engine or a decent second hand one. Ill upload some pictures on the weekend. Are you implying the budget is too much or too little im confused? basically ill have a shell left. Insulation im getting dirt cheap. the engine including gearbox is going to cost me £4.400 including 3 year warranty. So once lifted back in ill be left with £13600 ( £1000 to lift out and to lift back in) to blacken and refit the full boat, am I dreaming with this budget or is do-able to a good standard ?
  4. Any help as in pointing me in the direction of merchants for materials and a heads up if the engine suits will be appreciated guys.
  5. I originally found the engine on ebay and this link was posted on the ebay listing, The guy has over 1000+ positive so the link soundn`t be dodgy
  6. No 20K is for the engine and the full re-fit including all the plumbing and electrics etc.
  7. So I`ve bought a boat 50ft x 10ft its quite a state. She needs a new engine and re-fitting. Ive found this engine http://www.marine-power.net/mini-27hp---58hp.html im looking at the MP-458 any advise on this will be greatly appreciated. Budget is £20.000 for the engine and fitting can`t really afford to go over. Ive lifted her out of the water shes not too bad (has not been blackened for 7 years) - any advise on where to buy the painting materials will be appreciated. So at the minute the layout isnt all that great. you jump down onto the old engine from the back of the boat then your in the kitchen ( very shabby ). There is then a partition wall with a narrow hall that consists of one double bed and a separate toilet. When you walk down the hall your then in the living room, at the bottom of the living room there is a partition wall that goes the full width of the boat with a door, open the door and theres nothing really just the bow of the boat. So ive got my insulation sorted or ordered but where can i get the plastic sheeting that you can get in various textures and finishes for the walls? Been looking everywhere really struggling to find it. Ill upload some pictures on the weekend of the boat and will continue to do so. Wish me look!
  8. Im new to boating and looking for a narrow boat. Preferably one that is already in the water, the thing is I don`t know how you go about buying them. What i mean by this is I know how to buy a car, HPI check fill in the log book make sure they have a log book check the VIN numbers etc. With a boat is it just theres the cash now ill take the boat? Or is there a logbook to transfer ownership ? Regards.
