  1. Thanks Scholar Gypsy - it's silly how you can get uptight over one section and then not worry about the Wash crossing. And Purple Fairie - Look forward to catching up with you Wed or Thurs. (prob Thurs)
  2. hi Purple Fairie .... thanks for the great advice. It was the sheer number and I wasn't too sure on the area. I used to live in Northampton but that was over 30 years ago so not up to date on the no go areas. I have booked into the marina for either Wed or Thurs night .... and they have also suggested mooring at lock 13. We are experienced boaters but husband was ill last year and it's knocked his confidence and strength . We started off the season from Burton on Trent and have been down to London and now on our way down the Nene to Wisbech. We have booked Daryl to cross the Wash on the 10th June. Any tips on the Nene locks .... other than to have lots of Wheatabix before I start the locks... Ann
  3. hi looking for crew for leg Gaton Marina to Northampton . Prefer 28th May but 29th also fine. Payment and plus bacon sarnies and cakes. thanks in advance Ann
  4. so I'm ok with the Wash .... but the locks on the northampton arm and nene are intimidating me ..... anybody know a crew for hire ....28 or 29 may gayton marina to northampton marina ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then any date to 09th June....
  5. Don't know if this is any help ... when we were in business our tax accountant used to claim a percentage of costs inc. marina fees because we used to sometimes invite clients down for the day. She's now self employed but used to work for the tax office. It may be worth paying for proper advice.
  6. We have booked pilot for 16/17 June for the Wash ...Wisbech to Boston. May bring forward to 9/10 june if we can get a crew to help with the locks ... So if anyone wants to join us please let me know.
  7. hi - new member so sorry if I've got this wrong. Heading down Northampton Arm and on to R Nene. Currently got a pilot/guide booked for the 18/19 June from Dog in a Doublet to Boston. Daryl says safer with 2 boats (in case one breaks down). Fore various reasons we want the pilot on board our boat but wondered if any boat interested in joing us for the trip for the add cost of £30. Either post via here or email tagulablue@yahoo.co.uk with any questions. Thanks
