  1. You’re a star. Thanks again I’ll get on it.
  2. Ok thanks. Any particular model to go for.
  3. Hi Tracy it’s used for fresh cold water. Hi yes it’s a rubbery taste.
  4. I have installed an accumulator which is red (Cleghorn Waring). Unfortunately if the water in it is there for some time then the taste is tainted quite noticeably especially if it gets warm. Is there something I can do about this. Cheers.

    SR2 Leak Off

Success. Ticking away nicely. Starts almost instantly. No diesel or oil leaks. No benching fumes. Revs nicely in gear. Thanks everyone. Can I leave it for a few years now? Bod.

    SR2 Leak Off

I shall leave well alone. I am a great believer if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I’ve just got the new leakoff pipes so I can now put it all back together and hit the button and see what happens. Thanks everyone for all your help. I inherited the boat and engine so just keen to learn how it all goes together. Sometimes though I wobble in favour of something quieter smoother and Japanese. Cheers

    SR2 Leak Off

Morning chaps here's the linkage in all its glory. I need to adjust it cos the calibration marks are too far over to the left and are hidden behind the pumps body by about 2mm whereas the manual says they must be visible just next to the body (right side). I cant see a way of doing this other than adjusting the stop cable to pull them over a bit. The other issue is the idle speed where the only adjustment I can find is the screw on the throttle lever linkage shown on the other pics. The icing on the cake would be if anyone can explain what happens mechanically when I open up the throttle and the rod is pulled out of the casing accordingly. everything seems hidden and inaccessible. Just interested for future ref if it needs attending to. Cheers.

    SR2 Leak Off

Image 1 & 2 shows the start/stop handle and all the linkeage shown in the manual for it seems to be enclosed in impenetrable casing. The only idloe adjustment I can seem to get to is the adjuster screw on image 3. I need to try and adjust it though because the setting marks on the pump linkage should be visible next to the pump body but they are hiding behind it a couple of mm.

Genuinely cant find it all ref photo of the flywheel end. Nothing remotely resembling it there.

    SR2 Leak Off

There is quite a flow of leakoff fuel on my sr2 and the pressure pushed diesel past the failed threading of the injector connector bolt and on its merry way to the sump. It’s import therefore to ensure it’s in properly. When done run the engine with injector pump and valve/injector covers off and look carefully for leaks.

    SR2 Leak Off

That's what I've gone for. A bit dearer but more convenient and wont break the bank. BTW Does anyone have a handle on adjusting the idle speed re. p36/7 of the manual ie. where physically is the assembly marked A-G on p36. How can I access it???

Thanks Tony. Already ordered like for like. Forgive me as I'm a bit of a rookie. What does 'annealing mean I've heard it a few times.

    SR2 Leak Off

I threaded the nut that connects the leak off pipe to its Injector?. Need a new leak off pipe assembly. There's one at half the price on ebay but the outlet is stern side instead of bow. The assembly output is connected to a 'T' that sends a feed back to the tank and also a feed which is coupled to the filter outlet. Is the filter outlet feed necessary. If not I can get the stern side one and couple the tank return which is easy as it's flexible hose and blank off the coupling to the filter outlet thus avoiding work and expense. I'm sure you understand.

    SR2 Stuff

Thanks Tony. To show the mark I rotated the stop bracket a little. Both marks are in identical positions however they are positioned in running mode about 1mm behind the pumps housings where as the manual says they should line up with the edge. I was wondering if this 1mm is significant.

It’s ok it’s empty. Thought so about the grill how else would cooling air get in. You don’t know if the housing can be shifted to clean it all out?

#1 Please refer to images 1 & 2. Bolt is missing and screwdriver can be inserted in. Is this an issue that needs addressing. #2 Please refer to image 3. Does anyone have a couple of spare decomp levers. Both broken?? #3 Please refer to Inkedimage and second image 3. The marker (circled for illustration) is meant to be right next to the edge of the pump when the start/stop is in normal (upright) position (image 3) but in fact disappears about a mm in (hidden behind pump). Is that an issue? #4 Please refer to other image 1. Just general info is this grill arrangement usual between engine and gearbox never seen it on other SR2 illustrations. That's it! Thanks for your attention. Sorry the post has lost the image references. From top to bottom..... #1 pics 1&2 #2 pic 3 #3 pics 4&5 #4 pic 6 Regards
