  1. Indeed but when you work full time last thing you want is to have to cut grass on your day off. You have it spot on Alan.Ok what I want in a mooring. 1. Electricity 2. Elsan 3. Laundry 4. Pub lol 5. Shower/toilet block I will need to be able to commute to ilkeston. So bus route essential.
  2. Thanks mike. Just out of curiosity is the sawley lock mooring. Next to sawley marina by the yachting club?
  3. Ok so I'm looking for a mooring. Have possibility of a mooring there. But at the cost of £3015pa. With 10% discount. Which I think is extortionate. I don't mind paying upto £2000pa. Any ideas?
  4. Just got a reply off Paul barber and it will cost £400 for the boat to be pulled out, 2 coats of bitumen applied and put back in water.
  5. Well its got an immersion heater so that should be ok. Especially since ill be spending most time in a marina lol. No its a solid fuel stove but its circular. With no window. Don't know how to upload pix
  6. The boat already has a stove fitted but it looks crap lol. As for a back boiler. I'm not that fussed about having one. And id prefer to keep hush on the boat until completion. She's 38' so won't take much to heat lol.
  7. Definitely. Seem bigger when your only a few feet away lol
  8. It's connected to the engine yes and the water is also heated by an immersion heater when connected to landline. The morso squirrel 1410 doesn't come with the capabilities of connecting a back boiler (correct me if I'm wrong). Plus I'm on a tight budget. And limited on space lol.
  9. I'm but a 23" tv. Big enough for me. Don't wanna get square eyes lol.
  10. Yes you did junior. But that was before I found out how much it was going to cost.
  11. The boat has a calorifier fitted already.
  12. Sounds gd. But all led TVs come with at least freeview. That'll keep me happy.
  13. I'll let the pros do it for the first time. Maybe do it myself the next time.
  14. Let's hope so cause that'll save me £200.
  15. So where is this Paul barber? I also want the stove changing as its a crappy weird shape one. And I want a morso squirrel 1410 stove.
  16. Bare in mind that includes the dry dock for the duration of the time its being blacked. And its using rylards premium bitumen
  17. I'll know not to go up there then lol. I to would like to do the Llangollen. Not sure how to get there from Derbyshire though lol. Not to mention how long it would take. I'll be glad when I'm no longer a newbie lol
  18. Thanks Kevin. But its not going to cost as much as I expected so I'm going to get it done straight away.
  19. Well I just found a company at mercia that charge £11.20 plus vat per foot based on a boat upto 39ft. So mine's going to cost £510 inc vat and that includes dry dock hire. Plus £176 for 6 anodes. So that's going to be done straight after survey since its cheaper than I thought
  20. How much do anodes cost? There's a lot of info about cost of blacking but not about anodes.
  21. I don't think the boats had much use over the past year or so. It was done towards end of summer 11 so its just coming upto 3 years since last done. So I think it will keep till next march. Or even towards the end of this year.
  22. Not had the survey yet. Next week.
  23. Just after a bit of advice. The boat I'm purchasing was last blacked with 4 coats of bitumen in 2011 and also ad anodes replaced. Would it be ok to wait to have it blacked next year? Which gives me the extra cash now to get bit I need for onboard her and save up for blacking after Xmas? The reason I ask is I've had different opinions. Some say blacking should be done every 2 to 3 years, other say upto 5 years? Cheers
