What are the pros and cons for the length of a chimney on the stove in the boatmans cabin. I have a 28 inch one which works well on the stove in the saloon. I was thinking of buying a second one for the stove at the back. This would be used when we have visitors using the bed in the boatmans cabin and when cruising. Most boats seem to use long chimneys. What about the short ones (12") are they OK?
I managed to contact one of the directors, well actually they contacted me after I had contacted their solicitors.
They were very helpful and promised to contact one of the original builders who would supply me with any information I might need. She assured me he would get in touch shortly and gave me her phone number.
She also explained why the original owners probably didn't pass on the handbook etc.
That all looks very familiar. I have only had the boat for a few months however so I am reluctant at the moment to take on draining the cooling system. Especially as I am still finding out where everything is.
I have a long to do list, as I imagine does everyone. This will go on it now for next year.
I want to do the oil in the gear box next as it has never been changed.
YES! can't tell my right from my left.
I have one shore power socket at the front. I think there are two rcd consumer units behind the board but I couldn't swear.
Is the middle one for the generator and the top one for shore power?
I have a leak from behind the water pump (I think!).
The photo shows about two hours cruising.
Should I get this sorted? Is it an easy fix or should I just put up with it.
I have to agree she is lovely.
We have only had her for a few months so I am still finding my way around her. The original owners certainly did a good job of designing her and kitting her out. We fell in love with her when we first saw her and have no plans to let her go just yet..... Sorry!
