  1. hi everyone !! im back for some new questions i have been cruising all day yesterday and I found out the thottle is now working fine... so I change my clothes and open the back deck cober and the toolbox again.. I disconect the speed control cable. by hand i turn the lever and look like didn't whant to rev properly.. after adjusting it a bit now it looks ok but the problem is that sudently jumps of again.. any one know how does the speed control works?? sound like is got a spring but also i was thinking inside must be some kind of pinon n?? anyone has experiece something like this before?? thanks again gerard
  2. Good morning richard, My gearbox is back in the boat and works fantastically !! Im so happy you guy cant know . I fitted a new clatch cone and a brake band. Well thanks again I'm going to get ready I'm going crusing !!

  4. Nice one !! Sure i will treat it like girlfriend is it a good idea to where the gearbox screws go get longer ones so I have a easier way to assemble it all together?? How can i check that the oil pump piñon is engage properly?? If i put the finger in the oil hole on the top of the box i may fill the air pushing if turning the engine by hand ?? Thanks again Gerard
  5. Richard! Thanks lot for the advise!! I have dismantled it perfectly tomorrow morning im going to get the new parts so i can assemble it fastest i can, ill keep you inform Only one more advise! Definitely the inner cluch cone needs replacing but do you think is a good idea to take with me the clutch and break band springs to check they are allright or they will be ok? Thanks again Gerard
  6. thanks rechard!! the reverse break band I remove it easely also the pivot pins from the sides have been remove and frome the reduction box side is all empty but the cluck pack doesnt whant to come out... I heated with a gun and spray cold liquid in to the shaft but still dosnt came out.. can I bangit with a wood hamer?? it may be stuck with the bearing?? great the oil pump ill do this tomorrow morning but in the manual book I got says it comes all together just caking the to bolts off... thanks alot again!!! gerard
  7. sorry I only came here to ask for help... well finally i token the gearbox a part.. but I cant take out the reverse shaft the one thas got the interclutch cone assembly etc.. dose it came off all together?? or I need to take the 4 circlips of and dismantle from the back takeing the short pinions etc??? i removed all the reduction box even the back cover but still cant manage to dismantle the reverse shaft... also the oil pump doesnt whant to came off.. but because sims like is so delicate left it there having extra care. any advise would be very apreciate thanks a hell of a lot again!! gerard
  8. No I haven't contact him yet but I got in the web side and took the phone number so I will give him a call as soon as possible. A few month ago when I fitted the engine in the boat i replaced all the bearings and two seals in the reduction box because where totally gone.. Thats way I imagine if I take it all apart I will have a few more things than only the cone to replace.. Also i got the work shop manual for it if in case i need to strip it apart with some advices checks and tests I' ve done on it with no good resold.. Well thanks again I will keep inform of how im getting along with it!!
  9. Hi, thanks for the help. If the cone needs replacing is not there a big posibility that a few more parts will also need replacing?? I see if i can find a second hand one if not im not gonna have another choice than opening it and replacing what ever needs.. Thanks
  10. Anyone knows where or who can have a lh150 gearbox for sale in working order!?? My one is dead and i give up trying to make it go. The cone is gone and i prefer to replace the gearbox and give my one to anyone happy to fix it! Not have enough time for that. Thanks lot Regards
  11. bizzard: no when i go from neutral to reverse is fine even if the boat is totaly stop and i put on reverse and accelerate the boat will slowly, but move back the problem only happens if I rev in reverse strongly like if you wanna go into a lock and stop.. so what i do is rev hard go up to neutral and again revers reving hard until I fell the engine whants to die constanly but doesnt really work.. richard: Ill test this but you mind shouldent oil came out with the nut out or should came out?? no but really dont think I put the rong level because you just need to check the dipstickand also i put in sae 80/90 in the gearbox and in the reverse box
  12. aaaah bizzard thanks thats good to know!! so if the oil pressure fails is the hydraulic piston or may only be the amount of oil I put in is not the right amount?? so first I should do is drain the oil and put new one to the exact amount?? also richard i think I spokend to you by phone jiji when I was doing the engine and the boat in the boat yard trying to get some advise regarding bearings and starter motor. I cant remember now the make but the 4 bearings in the end of the gearbox joining the shaft and the seals arroun that where quite difficult to find, noting difficult. so thanks also for that!! aaaha yes upsss could be this so.... the gearbox was cleand up and it wasnt more than a week under water.. well so bizzard (first of all thanks lot!!) so that means that the problem could very probably by the hydraulic piston thats scratch??
  13. sorry for a delay respons.. thanks lot for the interest and advise!! ill cheak tomorrow see what i can fine. but still I cant emagine it comes from the gearbox because if like bizzard says of the gearbox going in to neutral with the prop still driving the revs shouldent go down no?? yes I have a lister lh 150 hydraulic box, but i cleaned well and put the proper amount of oil because befor it was only in first gear like oldgoldy says but after changing all the bearings seals and puting new oil the gearbox looked fine... any more info for my knowleg if got.. (not much) if the engine is in neutral you should be able to rev it much as you like with out dieing, well thats what i think normaly should happen. any more info or help jijiji thanks lot to all !!! regards
  14. good night everyone!! im a new member herer and in the canal and river world in uk!! i bourght a 55ft narrowboat that was very damage.. well water damage so well the story is very long im not gonna go that way. I've been working super hard for the last 5 month, also I learned lot. well going to my problem I have a lovely sr3 lister air cool engine that goes and starts like hell but I've got a problem that still I couldent resolve. to drive the boat in first gear I havent got no problem but to stop the boat (like when arriving in too a lock) or to go reverse is imposible... to stop the boat I need to put reverse and rev it quite a lot and when I do this my engine goes, dies, whants to stop. I trie blooding the injectors ar just the injector of the 1st cilinder, or from the diesel pump but nothing good hapened. Im thinking if maybe im thinking to much and is something else... maybe air going in from the accelerator in the engine where the accelerator cable goes. maybe someone with more experience could now whats wrong!! anyone can help?? thanks lot gerard
