  1. Thanks for the link, MikeV. His work is fabulous, but may be a little beyond my budget. Will see :-)
  2. Hello, any recommendations for fitters in the York area would be appreciated. Thanks, Cassi
  3. Congratulations! I'm hoping to move onto my boat in a few weeks time :-)
  4. Thanks, MtB and Ange I had a number of concerns, but all sorted out by spending a day together and asking lots of questions. Thanks for all the advice from all here too. Dog House yes, I agree, and my head and heart are both happy. Richard10002 I'm not trying to be vague, but I think that's between me and the seller. Sometimes these decisions are about more than money anyway, there were a number of factors here.
  5. Mooring transferred to me now. Did the paperwork today bursting with excitement.
  6. Well, did the 2nd viewing and sorted the issues out. The plan is to go ahead.
  7. Starcoaster, great to hear how it worked out for you.
  8. General consensus seems to be it doesn't seem reasonable and I'm inclined to agree. I just feel I owe it to myself to do the 2nd viewing. Will also try and get more info on the moorings from the marina I am preparing myself to walk away though. Just another thing, I checked the jim-shead site and it says boat is shorter than in the advert. Is that info reliable? Yet another issue to query tomorrow. Seems like more alarm bells as I did confirm advert details with him.
  9. Thanks for the replies Neil2 - much appreciated. Cassi
  10. Bit of a long shot I guess, but if someone knowledgeable could spare an hour to look over a boat with me on Sunday, please let me know.
  11. That's my problem. I don't know anyone knowledgeable about boats.
  12. Thanks Ange. I feel that too. He said it was just because he wasn't going to get into any negotiation on the price after a survey. So he wants a buyer to pay his price, and pay for survey, and pay for any repairs that need doing too. Maybe he will find someone who will do this. I did explain to him that by upping the price to what he wants, I wouldn't be able to do any work on it initially anyway now. I'm beginning to feel I should walk away. I will see how it goes as I'm due to do the second viewing over the weekend. Edited to add, all this by using the mooring as a persuader as it's been paid in advance, but then I have no security after that. Hmm, I think I'm beginning to see the answer to my questions. Cassi
