Thanks, MtB and Ange
I had a number of concerns, but all sorted out by spending a day together and asking lots of questions.
Thanks for all the advice from all here too.
Dog House yes, I agree, and my head and heart are both happy.
Richard10002 I'm not trying to be vague, but I think that's between me and the seller. Sometimes these decisions are about more than money anyway, there were a number of factors here.
General consensus seems to be it doesn't seem reasonable and I'm inclined to agree. I just feel I owe it to myself to do the 2nd viewing. Will also try and get more info on the moorings from the marina
I am preparing myself to walk away though.
Just another thing, I checked the jim-shead site and it says boat is shorter than in the advert. Is that info reliable? Yet another issue to query tomorrow. Seems like more alarm bells as I did confirm advert details with him.
Thanks Ange. I feel that too. He said it was just because he wasn't going to get into any negotiation on the price after a survey. So he wants a buyer to pay his price, and pay for survey, and pay for any repairs that need doing too. Maybe he will find someone who will do this. I did explain to him that by upping the price to what he wants, I wouldn't be able to do any work on it initially anyway now. I'm beginning to feel I should walk away. I will see how it goes as I'm due to do the second viewing over the weekend.
Edited to add, all this by using the mooring as a persuader as it's been paid in advance, but then I have no security after that. Hmm, I think I'm beginning to see the answer to my questions.
