  1. Hi Unfortunately, I am not on shore supply. As said, I only use the boat at weekends and don't feel that I'm too heavy on power. What would anyone suggest as a charging routine to keep the batteries topped up and exercised? Thanks Phil
  2. Hi Thanks for all comments so far. I've done some further checking and now feel that it's a power problem as I can now get the webasto system working, but only when the engine is running. Although the batteries are fairly new, they may need a good charging as we are weekend visitors to the boat. I will also check connections etc. Does this seem reasonable? Thanks, Phil
  3. Just an update... Checked everything as described, including a system reset. Situation still the same. No fuel from fuel pump. Before I purchase a replacement pump, I am going to try one more test and connect a 12v bulb on the connection going into the pump and see if it receives pulses from the control unit. My digital meter didn't pick these up, but I would expect to see a bulb light. Will keep you informed...Phil
  4. Great information. Will investigate further over the weekend. Thanks Phil
  5. Thanks Chris. Just to confirm what I did: I started the boiler, but there wasn't enough room to squeeze in my meter probe to get a reading with the plug connected at the fuel pump. So I disconnected the plug and read 9.4v in the input socket (at the fuel pump end) of the wire connected to the boiler. Hope that makes sense...Phil
  6. Thanks for all the suggestions and questions. A summary of the problem is as described by Chris above - The boiler appears to start (makes motor noises etc) but there's no fuel getting to it from the fuel pump and the fuel pump is silent. I therefore assume no ignition taking place. The boiler stays cold and shuts down after approx 2 minutes. At the moment, I suspect that either the fuel pump is not working or is not receiving the right voltage to do so. I have printed off the Webesto trouble shooting chart and will investigate further over the weekend. Phil
  7. Thanks for the advice. Carried out some further investigation - There is 12.4v going into the unit - There is fuel going into the fuel pump but nothing coming out - I measure 9.4v at the fuel pump (Not sure if it should be 12v) - There is no vibration/ticking from the pump So I am suspecting either the fuel pump or something else that is preventing it from working. Phil
  8. Thanks for the prompt replies. I have used the information and have discovered the following: 1. When switched on, it makes all the fan noises etc but the control display stays red 2. The unit remains cold 3. The header tank has water in it 4. I can feel water flowing through the flexible pipe next to the pump, although I didn't disconnect it, there is a distinct difference when the pump is on. 5. There is fuel entering the 'metering pump', but none leaving it. 6. I measured 9.4v on the metering pump plug when I disconnected it and switched the unit on Could it possibly be the metering pump or an interlock caused by something else preventing it from operating? Many thanks for all thoughts and suggestions Phil
  9. Hi We purchased our first boat in the summer we have learned lots and have had great enjoyment. This weekend I decided to test the Webasto heating system - Diesel boiler and 3 radiators. The boiler starts up ok then shuts down after about 2 minutes. All pipe-work around the boiler and radiators remain cold. Reading the manual talks about 'lock-out' etc and reading these forums advise checking for airlocks. I know that the heating system worked well last winter as we used to visit the previous owner. Before I go and investigate, is there anything else I should check? The boiler seems to be a sealed unit. Many thanks in advance Phil
