Hello. I'm moving down to Wiltshire in the next few months and one day (perhaps a year or so) intend on buying a narrowboat to live on. Is the Kennet and Avon between Bath and Devizes and good place to buy and live on a narrowboat? I'll probably be working in Trowbridge. Are there any big problems with living on that stretch? I know that conjestion is a bit of a problem. I'll probably get a mooring but may even decide to be a continuous cruiser. Depends how things pan out. My budget is low so it'll have to be something for £20,000 or less. Advice from Kennet and Avon dwellers is most welcome. Thanks. Matt.

Hello all, Does anyone know if anybody ever rents their barges/narrowboats out to people who want to liveaboard. For example if someone owns a boat but hardly ever uses it; I thought that maybe there might be someone who would rent it perhaps just as a temporary set up. Probably not - but I thought it'd be worth asking. I'd be looking round the South West - Glouscestershire/Wiltshire/Somerset. Thanks M.

Hello, Does anyone know where I could buy a narrowboat for £15,000 or under? I intend living aboard and fitting it out myself. The hull must be in good condition. Apart from that I have no prerequisites. I live in North Derbyshire but will soon be moving down to the South West; Kennet and Avon or maybe Glous and Sharpness. I only ask cos I've not really seen anything in The Towpath/magazines. Looking for something between 30 to 45 ft. Thanks M.
