As has been raised above if it's permanent then they are few and far between that have availability. It might be worth trying Retford Mariners in the Town Centre. There are moorings at Retford & Worksop Boat Club in Clayworth but there is a waiting list for permanent moorings. There are however usually visitor spaces at this time of year.

£32 Calor 13kg Propane Delivered. A few weeks ago that was £28.

You could join the Chesterfield Canal Trust and then volunteer on one of their boats. They welcome new volunteers and it's a good way to get experience of how different boats handle etc.

Any offers as to where it was taken?
I'm tempted to suggest Grimsby.

We are fitting a refillable gas system to the van when it arrives. First job to do when we get it.
To fill 2x11kg bottles costs around £30 vs around £35 a bottle from Calor. It's a no brainer.
We have a garage selling LPG just down the road so filling up won't be out of our way either.
Just one thing to be aware of is that the LPG from the pumps in Europe (Particularly Spain apparently) can cause issues with the jets on Gas Fridges. That said you may not be going to Europe or having a Gas Fridge!

If a mains supply is available i'd be tempted to put a small tube heater in the engine bay on a low temperature just to keep the damp out.

From my memory of the photos of Nelson at the boat club I would say the conversion looks very similar to those photos shared by Max's Son. Obviously a lot of conversions of that era looked very similar but R&WBC's Nelson was a BCN boat and the BCN plate and then T-stud from the bow are displayed on the fireplace wall in the bar there (sadly it has been closed for far too many months but I suspect it might be possible to get someone to get a photo of them and or the photos which are in the function room IIRC
I managed to get these today. Apologies for the reflection on the Photo’s.

If can't be certain if it's the same Nelson but this may be of interest if it is https://rwbc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Operation-Nelson.pdf In short it ended up being owned/used by the Retford and Worksop Boat Club at Clayworth.

A few years ago I was shouted at by a resident of a new housing estate which is next to the Canal as she didn't like all the boats going past her Garden...........
-
I wonder if it's a "real" location or CGI and if real where it is.
I suspect it's probably a match of the two with the lights etc. added in.

It depends where in Babworth woods you've looked. There is a section that at present would normally have an abundance of Chestnuts although i've not been down for a few months.

Paul Barber builds some excellent boats and his skills are well known. If you are on Facebook he can be found here https://www.facebook.com/PjBarberBoatbuilderLtd/

Bigray,
How far can we go from West Stockwith up the Chesterfield Canal ? Is there any junctions to turn into other waterways ?
You can head up to the Norwood Tunnel which is around 32 miles and if you then want to you can walk over the top and head towards the restoration. There are no other waterways to turn off although hopefully that will change in the future.

The Chesterfield is well worth a visit and there are some lovely spots. It's worth checking out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ1_CKxovjYVXkpNCLOjrbA as they have just spent the entire lockdown on the Canal. Don't worry too much about the weed it's vastly improved in recent weeks. The Boat Club at Clayworth is currently closed but may well be open by then and they are a friendly bunch there are also visitor moorings with facilities.

I use 3 for WiFi having fallen out with them many years ago I gave them another try. I have to say i'm quite impressed I have a proper router not a MiFi and use it at home. I've been able to download whilst on teams sessions and it has numerous devices connected. £22 a month.

I've seen this from both sides. I go boating and also do some angling on both the Canal and the Trent. I was the fishing bailiff on the Canal for a while and did ban an angler that refused to move from fishing on lock landings and would give boaters abuse for getting too near. Equally i've had an incident where I was fishing on a straight stretch of the Canal and a boat decided to moor where I was fishing "because he can" I know that section well. It's a fairly equal depth all along and no facilities etc. It also transpired he'd done it to other fishing as well. Moors up then 20/30 minutes later moves on. Ok yes he has the right and I have no issue with that but common courtesy would say you moor a but further up/down the 700 yards of straight canal.
Like most things in life. A bit of give and take helps everyone but sadly you always get the odd one that wants to make trouble.

I'm on 3 at £22 a month but that includes a proper router rather than just a dongle. That said for most uses a dongle is more than sufficient.

Well by the time it comes to a committee vote you might have a say ... when this is all over
True - either way if it happen i'll more than likely be responsible for ordering the beer. Got to get the beer right for a banter!

Sounds good to me.

Ooops my mistake/typo IT was means to say something more like using either Zoom or Teams.
I believe (although haven't experimented yet) that with Zoom there is a dial in option where you obviously only get audio but of course it doesn't use data.
-
I'd suggest either using Zoom. Teams is probably better but has a cost. With Zoom you can have up to 100 connections into the call (which isn't practical) the trick is the meeting duration is capped at 40 minutes for the free version. That said there is nothing to say you couldn't have 40 minutes, a 10 minute comfort break then another 40 minutes. We had our team meeting the other day with 50 on it but lines were muted unless you were speaking/presenting which probably isn't practical for a banter.

There seems to be a distinct lack of care for the Duck in this thread!
On a serious note it goes to show just how important it is to have alarms fitted! There are two in Python's relatively small cabin. One of them is deliberately placed at a similar height to someone's head if they were sleeping in the cabin.

At work our passwords have to be at least 15 characters long, include at least one capital letter, one number and one punctuation mark. Once logged on there are another 5 programs we have to log onto with the same type of password but all passwords must be different and writing a password down is frowned upon. Passwords also must be changed every 3 months. Fecking mental.??
You think yourself lucky we have to change our every 28 days!

If it's going in the water (rather than hardstanding) then you will need to get it to West Stockwith and use the slipway there. Wilf runs it and is usually very helpful. PM me if you need his details.
