  1. yes I have the manual, but not sure it mentions connecting to a laptop. The manual does mention the option of a remote panel but I don't have one. cheers
  2. 24.6v when not under charge and 28v or 29v when charging(depending on mode ,float or boost). The output voltage at the charger terminals reads the same and the cables and connections all appear to be good
  3. Hi there, my victron charger "skylla-tg 24v 80amp" doesn't seem to output many amps. I've tried it on float and boost settings and the output current reads 10amps for a few seconds and then shows nothing. This is when the batteries are reading 24.6v the batteries and the charger came with boat,so I don't know their age ,or how knackered they are. The batteries are flooded lead type ,old ,and not holding much of a charge.I see no point replacing them until I sort the charger issue. The cables and connections are all good. I only have poor internet connections(and not much time to check it) ,so sorry if it takes me awhile to reply to any comments. thank you in advance. cheers
  4. Hi thanks for all the replys. My main reason for planning on doing a diy job,is that the roof is ready to do now and the cabin sides wont be ready for another 2 months. The hull won't be spray foamed ,but kingspan to make it easier for future welding. any idea of the cost per m2 for a pro job?I guess that the thickness is also going to affect the price.
  5. What's the best way to prep steel for spray foam? bare steel or primed, smooth or rough sanded? What experiences ,have folks had ,of diy jobs ? I have about 38m2(the cabin above the gunnel) of steel to spray. Can anyone recommend a kit for that kind of meterage? cheers
  6. Insulation and a vapour barrier, sound like a very good idea.I'm going to be doing the same job in a few weeks so have given some thought. I am going to use a barrier and probbally try glue it the underside of the flooring to stop sagging. I haven't decided how to tidy job around the inspection hatches yet. What are you thinking of doing? I have used tophat alot for work, but only on walls and ceilings and it can sqweak and move, and I imagine it could be worsre if you compress it as you walk.I think the idea of ventilatoin (of the floor, without loss of head room) is important. My plan is to put "iso rubber"(used on site under floor screed and boarding) over the steel. Nic
  7. hmm thats what I feared.I'm off out to France soon so will see if I can stock up on filters and bits.On the plus side ,if its lasted that long, its got to be fairly robust ,so what can go wrong!
  8. Thanks for the replys. I'm in the process of buying a boat with a 2 cylinder Baudouin, and was wondering about getting parts.cheers
  9. anyone know about Baudin from 1930s? my searches only seem to find ads for the new engines, not the vintage stuff.cheers
