    ok tony thanks for that sorry if i came across a bit miffed .i for one know from first hand the pitfalls .i had a boat stretched from 40ft to 60ft and that went tits up on me .and not for one minute does my hubbys mate think property devlopment is the same as fitout s he himself laughs at that one, any way lets see how this rolls out .thanks

    only a fool would take on a a boat fit out, and some on here think he is, let me tell them hes no fool ,when you can fullfill multi million pound contracts ,he must have some thing about him .it will all be done legal . what some on here think its abt making money .thats far from it .and as for me and my post writing lets just say im thick ok ..i will let you know how it goes 18 months down the line .who knows he may say to him self nar to hell with if ..i will get another rolls royce to keep the other company .you know why that is . its becuse he can .all this started out as an idea over a few beers with my hubby ,all i have had of here you have to do this, you got to do that .myself and hubby have been with  narrowboats he 30 year myself about 25 .i do know what its like to carry the porto loo to the elsan and even now how to empty it , but to be honest he does it most time

    no i did not see that post .it stand to reason tho .recreational craft direct ,and all other legal stuff will be in place .i may be a lot of things wotever . ignorant is not one of them lol .also this project will have P.I

    all rules will be followed to the letter .what do you mean by post being ignored ? some one dies wheres that come from. narrowboats are brought and sold every day ,all rules and insurences will be met .if this project is taken on,

    off topic just seen kurt cobains guitar as just sold for nearly 5 mill ,maybe who ever brought that knows nothing about or even plays guitar .maybe just like buying a sale away .and knowing nothing ,who knows

    arthur nor do i ,but we are all different ,he would not get is workforce on it .they earn him is money to do such follys , and thats it really its just play really, if he  goes along with it and it works fine ,if it dont work thats also fine ,just like saying why do people climb everest .some people do .but theres a lot more that dont ..if you get my jist .anyway i got what i needed topic over as far as saleaways go .now you can all go back to the perils of lockdown ,lol

    thanks mike again its not about any profit or the like .if he did go ahead with is idea ,he would more then like just plonk it in a marina .and leave it there for any one to use it such as people he knows , or work for him .like i said rich mans toys and all that .hes just working class whos done good but as never forgot is friends .take my hubby he dont have a pot to piss in ,still good mates tho ,nothing may never come of this .but i would not bet against it lol

    thank you mrsmelly could not have put that better myself ,thats exactly what what my hubbys friend is all about ,he took is work force to dublin last year for the weekend ,stayed at the burlington hotel ,they are of to benidorm on there next jolly up ..some people hay , one good thing tho hubby goes too.

    thanks matty you have  have told me all i wanted to know ,and yes lpg gas fitter is on board and not a domestic like i said he as a mind to do this as a project just like many self fitout people do ,hes a good friend of my fella ,and comes to my boat often .we were chatting and he came out and said if he had a boat he would have this he would have that .and like my fella said to me, once he as something going on in is head he goes with it ,he as over 200 people work for him in some way  or another .and its not that he would call on   any of these .but i am sure he would ..if he needed  some one more qualified then himself to do any job on a fitout .as i am sure we have all done this, my hubby is a roofer ,but he never fitted  my gas system .to myn mind its rich men and there toys ,and why not he pays is taxes in this country

    no he asked me how much a shell would cost .and i did not have an answer for him as i did not know ...and no he would sell it on for what it cost him to do .hes not employing any one they all ready work for him .like i said it would be a venture and new  hobby for him ,but your right abt him not knowing abt the market .nor does he want to know ..to my mind if he did not sell it .it would prob ,,stop on is land .just like is rolls and bentley  that are just sat in is garage

    a friend of mine as in is  mind of fitting out a new 60 ft narrow boat out .he has every thing in place the land ,  the work force such as chippy,s sparks, painters it   would be finshed off to the best spec on the market    hes just after steel only .dont want it boarded or foamed out ,not even fussed abt engine or not ,what sort of price range would he be looking at .it would be finished of to the best spec on the market when finished it would be sold off .so more or less hes looking at something to get is teeth into .more of a new venture and new hobby  for him ,. the last venture he took  was is own home which is valued at abt 4 million ,and before i get fed back if any .of why dont he just buy  one all .fitted and ready to go .hes not interested in any of that .  thanks stay safe

    hi all is there a carpenter out there  in canalworld  who could rearrange my pullman like dinette, into too a L shaped one, i have  most of if not all the wood and stuff .good rates of pay ,lots of teas and food breaks provided ,if not does any one now of a good chippy ,,thanks

    they are all very good fantastic really ..when i made my mind up to live on my boat i got rid of a lot of stuff as you do .even all my canal ware . this fella came to my then house and gave me £300 for the canal ware .but what did amaze me was ,there was this beaten up old plate thinking he would not want it any way.  he did tell me who had painted it .but forgotten who he said it was .as it as been a long time ago . any way he gave me £100 for it alone .the paint work was shabby most of it had peeled of in fact .the fella who had my stuff came from the wolverhampton area .i very often think of that old plate
