If it's following the usual pattern, a "floating shantytown" will form in the nicer parts
References for "the usual pattern"?

Some people are saying the stud is probably loose in there. Isn't that counter-intuitive? The stud has locking nuts on the adjustment side to keep it from vibrating loose. Those locking nuts wouldn't accomplish much if the stud were free and easy on the stationary side, would it? Am I missing something?
Both my studs unscrewed itself not long after the stern gland was replaced. I just put lock nuts on the studs to secure them into the base.

They have numbered the damaged areas, only 420!!
That's probably a distance marker: Chirk tunnel is 421m long...

Here's a view of the fields below:-
For the benefit of those who don't know the area, none of the water visible is the river Weaver.
That's a lot of water in the wrong place. Not good

There is a month long stoppage advertised for early next year for the whole length from Anderton to Dutton for "washwall inspection". There are quite a few areas along that length where finding the washwall could be a challenge, never mind inspecting it.

The one thing Bedazzled seem to offer that the others fail to mention is their lamps appear to be guaranteed free of electromagnetic interference. I imagine the mean radios etc won't be affected. Is this a problem with the products of any of the other suppliers mentioned?
Had some not-very-cheapies from a chandlery which completely wiped out the FM radio. Now I have ones from Bedazzled and no RF interference problems.

As far as I recall (from when I ditched mine ), the three screw holes on the top plastic piece are supposed to "stack" onto the three holes in the bottom piece, and three long screws go through the whole lot. Horrible things

Depending what sort of fluorescent fitting you have (basically how much room there is inside), you may be able to strip out all the gubbins and fit a couple of "flat" LED bulbs, with minimal soldering or none at all with terminal blocks. I modified some old Labcraft Crystalite fittings with a couple of LED disks each (wire ended, from Bedazzled) very successfully. Much better than the old tubes, very bright.

We have a walk through arrangement. One one side is the shower cubicle and a wardrobe, other a basin and the toilet normally behind a pair of doors (looks a bit like a double wardrobe). These two doors open to close off the centre corridor and make an enclosed bathroom about 6 x 4ft. The doors are normally left so that the corridor is open. Not being able to pass through the boat when the bathroom is in use is a minor issue, even with three of us, and not one that would persuade me to lose the space from the bathroom.
ETA, I've seen walk through arrangements with offset doors, but our setup means that the toilet is not "on display" when walking through!

the cost of fitting out a boat is a very different thing from the cost of having a boat fitted out...

Where do you put the outside part?
At the moment it's in my garden store "shed" at the marina. I'll probably put it on the catch board at some point. It's never going to be Stevenson Screen accurate

Just bought the Aldi £20 one for the boat. Got a Maplin one with wind speed and rainfall at home. If you like gadgets....

Slackening the sideways bolts alone won't allow the two halves to separate, because there should be half a dozen bolts holding the box onto the adapter plate (heads inside the flywheel housing). Are you sure it's the joint between the halves, and not the output shaft/drain plug/selector lever, etc?

Prior to removing a square of the ceiling around the flue, the thin ceiling panel was only about 15mm from the flue.
What did you replace the square with?

What happens if you overstay on the Monty?s
No idea!

Careful now. I proposed this a couple of years ago and got universally condemned for suggesting it!
My view is that boaters should be recorded entering the city, given 14 days free of charge then it's £25 a day beyond that unless the boat has a permanent mooring.
I know the laws don't exist to do this, but if they did, it would be a very tidy and simple solution.
MtB
CRT currently impose a maximum stay of 14 days (actually it might be 14 nights) on the whole of the connected portion of the Montgomery canal - 14 full stop, not 14 then a charge. Do they have a statutory basis to do so? If so, then how is one specified stretch of water different from another? They may already have the powers?

You might consider pointing him at Tim Leech at Dutton.

I thought a press release was used to announce something. Not sure what the pupose of this one is.
It seems mainly to be to add the word "London" to the increasing list of terms whose meaning is disputed.

the "big lock" pub (name I cant remember).
The pub next to the Big Lock is called... The Big Lock
To answer the OP, been a good few times, not every year, enjoyable weekend out.

The service block at Anderton is closed in its entirety (Elsan, pump out, showers) due to pump problems and has been for the last 10 days. Water taps ok. I don't recall seeing this on a stoppage email.

No continuous moorers at all as far as we could see this summer, it surprised us that there appeared to be no ccer's in this area at all either.
Indeed, apart from the middle of Birmingham it seems pretty deserted. At one point we hadn't seen another moving boat for three days, and when we did their greeting was... "We haven't seen another moving boat for three days!", and this was in mid summer. I had been a bit concerned about the prospect of finding a "safe" overnight site full up, but by and large they were deserted with the exception of Ocker Hill where the Land & Water dredging team had filled the entire visitor moorings with plant (and had managed to sink a tug!)

IF you take the drain plug out, don't lose the metal washer... Can't remember if the Hurth has a magnetic drain plug, if it does then you really need to take the plug out to clean any crud off it.

Sounds like he was unlucky, we've done all the navigable bits that you've just run your highlighter over and love it.
The only place I've ever had any bother was the south end of Coseley Tunnel, with some kids dropping stuff off the parapet. Sent the missus through first with the ship's biggest windlass and camera

Seconded UT200 series from Maplins. Just bought one 39 quid.
And thirded. Maplin if you need it in a hurry, eBay for a better price.
I've bought various non time critical bits from Hong Kong and China on eBay, delivery times have been variable, only one package want AWOL (refunded without quibble), so I think I'd do so again.

I know the Carbon Monoxide sensor heads degrade over time, not sure about the LPG ones.
