  1. Thanks to everyone for your advice, I will try it out. I guess it's practice. Any other advice would be greatly taken, steering ahead , locks & bridges etc are no problem it's just turning and the like.
  2. Thanks, but a bit on the confused side I understand the tiller over and idle forward to start it turning but when going into idle reverse should the tiller be opposite to previous forward position or straight ?. Thanks
  3. There are pontoons opposite as well !. Its at Reedley Marina http://www.reedleymarina.co.uk/ Our berth is on the long continuos side, to the left opposite the entrance.
  4. Hi , We have just bought a narrowboat,we did have one some 20 years ago but love them so much were back !. My question is whats the easiest way without looking like an idiot to reverse into our marina ( shared long jettys -fingers ) The entrance off the canal is a right turn into the middle of the marina, I then need to turn left, turn around & reverse in. I seem to have trouble turning the boat into the right position ( lining up ) before reversing. It's a 52 ft boat. Please be gentle. glynn New Member (be nice!) 5. So what are you saying, remove it and clean/lube it ?.
  6. Hi, I have a narrow boat with the Barrus Shire 42 hp engine fitted, it has been occasionally failing to stop when I press the stop switch. It does however stop if I press the button in on the injector pump ( manual stop ), I have measured the voltage at the stop solenoid and it is 12.8 V with the stop switch pressed. I'm thinking the solenoid is stuck ?. Are these a known problem & do you reckon it can be freed off ?. Any advice greatly taken.
  7. It looks like either Reedswood or Lowerpark marina's. Does anyone have pro's / con's for these two ?.
