Red Wharf heading for Windmill End.
-
Team RW taking on water at Wolverhampton.
-
Ange and Dave, wish we could see you both.

Next question. Where is Barney?
-
Thank you. Hope we get to see some of you before the finish.
-
Any chance of a list of competitors?
-
Wrong thread
-
Does anyone know if there is anywhere safe to leave a car near the finish?
-
. It must be wonderful to be part of it all even if none of it makes sense. Please tell Sally her Chocolate cake was missed at the finish of the BCN challenge this year. (As were both of you)

It wasn’t that shallow, they were dancing on shopping trollies.

Anymore news?

I’d like to thank everyone involved this year, Team RW had a really good time with no mutiny this year.

Team RW just done the last lock of the challenge. Saw Rebellion about to do Spon Lane.

We’ve been stuck at Stab City for over an hour with the remains of a carpet wrapped so tightly round the prop you can’t move either the prop or the carpet. Sigh

Red Wharf on the Tame Valley. Bacon butties and red sauce after the joys of Ryders Green locks.

The Rochdale 9 is horrible but not because it is hard work. It’s horrible because of other things around it, used condoms, used needles around the lock etc. We have always gone up (or down) in the very early hours of the morning and there may have been a bit of cursing on occasion but it was still easier than the Huds Narrow Canal.

So sorry Ange. She was a small dog with a huge character. Much love to you and Dave.

I think the reason the hotel boat can’t get past the bridge is not because of the bridge but because there is a rather large boat moored just in front of the bridge. It really is quite an obstruction.
-
Here you are then MP, I’ll say Farmers Bridge. Easy to use, a bit of variety and a trip to the PO Vaults and/or the Wellie at the top.
-
Just booked the Travelodge. See you all there.

We reported dumped tyres up Garrison to CaRT back at the end of May.

I don’t mind things being different but I do mind them not working due to lack of basic maintainance. Why do you think working boatmen would tolerate this any more than boaters now.

i don’t think the HNC is fit for purpose. Some paddle gear hadn’t seen any lubrication for a long, long time making them not only difficult to wind up but difficult to wind down. No danger of dropping them and they made the anti vandal locks look a bit redundant. Then as you come down from the summit into Huddersfield, the type of key changes. I’m going to get shouted at for saying this but I would rather they spent money in keeping other parts of the system working than spending it on that canal.

RW is currently at Windmill End. It’s full of goose poo.
