LILO Liveaboard Gathering: 13th - 15th April 2012 Kennet & Avon Canal http://www.lilo.org.uk/gathering'>http://www.lilo.org.uk/gathering Low Impact Life Onboard (LILO) are hosting a Spring Gathering of Boaters on the Kennet & Avon. All boaters are welcome to come. It’ll be an informal affair – more of a get together for boaters to share news and skills. There’s plenty of camping space available for those who decide not to bring their boats to the gathering. One of the main features of LILO gatherings is the opportunity for boaters to share their skills and knowledge with other boaters. We ask people who feel they have a skill or knowledge which may be useful to other liveaboards to contact us for a slot in the timetable. At previous gatherings we’ve done the usual workshops on diesel engine maintenance and 12volt electrics, but also tips on helping your boaters’ group work together more smoothly. This year, in addition to the practical workshops there’ll be sessions on legal rights of boaters, the big changes to the structure of BW and the Kennet & Avon moorings plan, as well as a chance to get together with other people who are wanting to do something about it all. All in all we’re planning to have two days for workshops and sharing skills, so there’ll be plenty more time and room to have more sessions. We have plenty of workshops lined up including engine maintenance, 12V electics (theory and build you own PV panel) plumbing and carpentry. We’re looking for more people who can offer their skills and knowledge in the workshops and talks. We’ll be running some sessions on how to run workshops for those who aren’t too confident, or have never done it before. We’re also asking for ideas and requests for workshops – what would you like to see happen at the Gathering?
