HI All,
HNY!
We have a vanette oven and grill. when we bought the boat in the summer we were told by the previous owner that it needed a new thermocouple. 6 months on and i finally bought one and fitted it! Sadly though it still doesn't work!! Bugger. It doesn't matter how long I keep the button pushed in, when I release it the grill turns off. Frustrating, especially as this probably means that the thermocouple i just pulled out was still working.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem? The thermocouple is new so nice and clean and no fat/oil deposits. The tip of it is in the flame of the burner when it is on. Not sure what else I can do?
Cheers!
The company that make Vanette products went bust 4 years ago so spares are like hens teeth, so I am told.

At least you can get one! Otherwise it's a whole new appliance.
By the way the regulator is on the oven, not the grill which is where the OP's problem lies.
MtB
The regulator controls the oven and the grill on vanettes.
And yes I ended up buying a new cooker.

I have just had the exact same problem, its the regulator thats gone ,quoted £125.00 plus delivery for replacement.

Ok thanks for all the info on Flotex, but could i ask we get back on subject
Ie.
But should I lay a layer of heavy duty polythene down
first, I was told to use news paper but would that not retain moisture/ damp.
Or is it best with hessian backed carpet to lay it direct.
-
Hi
Thanks for the replies.
The carpet I am removing has no markings etc, but its a bit like thin felt.
I am replacing it with a hard wearing hessen backed industrial carpet.

I have decided to replace the worn/ faded carpets on my newly aquired n/b.
When I started taking the old one up I found there had been no underlay used, it was laid directly onto the wooden floor.
As this was a professional fit out, i was wondering if this was for a specific reason or just an oversight or cost cutting reasons.
I have purchased some new special thermal underlay ready to re-carpet.But should I lay a layer of heavy duty polythene down
first, I was told to use news paper but would that not retain moisture/ damp.
Please can anyone advise or share their experiences..................
Many Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

Hi
Yes the boat is over 5 years old and I do have all the info and documentation required, its just contained in so many different documents I wish to
organise it into a single document format. And was wondering if there is a standard format for such a document.

Hi
I need to replace a Vanette GG 2200/2200 cooker/hob. As I heard they are no longer in production.
Can anyone recommend a direct replacement as I would prefer not to change or knock about the built in kitchen that surrounds it.

Thank you thats great. I appreciate the reply.
Not sure if I am asking for the right thing. I want to produce a document which contains all the spec for the boat, ie a boat spec manual.
So at a glance I have the relevant info in an easy to read format instead of going thro a mountain of paper work and brochures. plus as you point out to
keep copies of the documentation you mentioned.

Hi All
Just about to set off on our first adventure on our new n/b from Ashby Canal.
Is it best done clockwise or anti-clockwise.
Any issues we should know about.
And are the horror stories, concerning the Birmingham Canals just that........ stories.
