It looks a nice boat but remember its 24 years old, I've just had a survey done on a boat I've now bought,a full survey cost over £600, you can have a cheaper one done just to check the hull but I think its the best £600 I've spent.
I would at least be considering a hull survey

While on the subject of Silsden boats, if we went with them ourselves, how pushed would we be to get to Leeds and back.
In a week in early October, just that at some time we want a boating holiday that will take us into Leeds, well it does not need to be all the way into Leeds.
Armley is where we would wand to get to
Silsden to Leeds and back in a week would be quite comfortable boating, We did Skipton to Selby and back in ten days without breaking a sweat but if you did do it I'd look at mooring in Clarence dock in the middle of Leeds instead of Armley !!!

NIck,
I'm normally based on the L&L near Skipton and live near there, the only hire boats we see are Canal Boat Escapes, Pennine Cruisers (Skipton), Snaygill (Skipton again,) Silsden Hire Boats (about 6/7 miles east of Skipton) and Shire boats from Sowerby Bridge / Foulridge ,
I've not seen any others attempt the route that you're talking about.

Nick,
I've seen several of canal escapes boats and they look really excellent,I especially love the look of n.b. Isobel
With regards to the water levels, I wouldn't worry, it hasn't stopped raining for weeks now here in Yorkshire and the reservoirs (well at least for the L & L) are full.
Just do your trip and don't worry, it's a great part of the world.

I'm sure that Riley Green boats are fine but it's only a day away from Barnoldswick and Canal Escapes and I prefer their boats
