Could you capture it filter it and run one’s vessel on it??
seems like a opportunity missed to me..

You don’t want the flue pipe touching the collar at all, no where, the flue will rot out quicker with vibration from the engine where it touches..

Welford Lock gets my vote as being the nicest on the whole system.
The Welford Arm is lovely, Even more so now as the “ Friends of the Welford Arm “ look after it and carry out maintenance..

Where are the nearest hire bases to Foxton nowadays?
I fondly remember Keith Jones's base below the locks, the office was a converted 45' goods van. Worth it to hire a steam-powered boat (Firefly) for 2 weeks though... 😉
That’s going back a few years, I guess 30yrs plus some.

We do all of our gas pipework and joints, feeds, pipe clamps, hoses etc, but only after agreeing everything with the guy who is going to be connecting everything up and signing it all off.
I have done the same on my own boat, with the same advice.o
Who’s “we” matty40s ?

Depending how much the battery weighs it could make sense to take it to a scrap metal merchant. The last set of leisure batteries (4 x115 Ah) paid out nearly £50 in Daventry. If you do this take photo ID and your bank details. Or maybe a local scrap merchant could collect from you?
Charlie’s on the industrial estate…?

It’s a pipe stat.
I had one on the hot pipe of the fire back boiler, when it got to a certain temp it kicked a circulation pump in and pumped hot water through the rads.

True, but the whole point of a boat is you can move away from the arseholes.
The arseholes always reappear though…

Is the pub open now?? As I understand it it has a bit of a cult following and was recently shut/sold??
